  • The World Government's 'tub current' connects its three central facilities — Marineford, Impel Down and Enies Lobby — diagrammed on a map; the battleship rides this current in through the gates (p. 4).
  • Vice Admiral Momonga's full designation is given: Navy Code G-1, 00660; he captains the battleship transporting Luffy (smuggled) and Hancock.
  • As a Warlord, Hancock is normally barred from anywhere near the prison; to enter she must be searched and wear sea-prism-stone cuffs — Luffy hides under her cape and tells her to keep going.
  • The countdown tightens to 'thirty-three hours until Ace's execution.'
  • In Garp's cell visit, Ace disowns his 'good-for-nothing father,' says he owes the name Portgas to his MOTHER, and (in flashback) declares the man who offered 'Be my son… go wreak havoc on these seas' — Whitebeard — 'is my only father.' Garp frames both grandsons as carrying 'world-class criminal blood.'
  • A guard reports Buggy the Clown has ESCAPED from his Impel Down cell and 'has Devil Fruit powers.'
  • The Buggy Pirates (led offshore by Alvida) reach the Calm Belt to rescue Buggy but turn back when a crewmate commandeers the ship Big Top; they bid Buggy a tearful farewell and mention his quest for Captain John's long-lost treasure island.

Summary

Deep in Impel Down, Vice Admiral Garp visits a chained, beaten Ace. He tells Ace he spoke to Luffy about his father, and laments that he wanted both grandsons to be great Navy men; Ace answers that the “world-class criminal blood” in their veins meant the Navy was never an option. Ace disowns his “good-for-nothing father” — he owes the name Portgas only to his mother — and, recalling the day Whitebeard offered “Be my son… go wreak havoc on these seas,” declares Whitebeard “is my only father.” Out at sea, Vice Admiral Momonga (Navy Code G-1, 00660) rides the government “tub current” — the route linking Marineford, Impel Down and Enies Lobby — to deliver Hancock and her secret stowaway, Luffy, to the prison. The Buggy Pirates, prodded offshore by Alvida, briefly weigh storming the Calm Belt to save the soon-to-be-executed Buggy, but abandon the rescue when a crewmate seizes the ship Big Top. The chapter tours Impel Down’s horrors — starving and tortured inmates, a cell-block “boss,” a roaming beast-jailer — before the battleship reaches the main gate. Hancock, who has been granted a one-time exception to dock here, learns she must be searched and cuffed in sea-prism stone; Luffy, hidden under her cape, urges her on. As the gates open, a guard reports Buggy has escaped his cell — and the clock reads thirty-three hours until Ace’s execution.
