What we know
- Ch. 1 (area page 47): first individual Sea-King appearance — the Lord of the Coast, the smaller-tier Sea King Shanks loses his arm to. Individual encounter; no species-name yet.
- Ch. 19: Shanks’s sea-devils-enchant-the-Devil-Fruit doctrine retroactively frames Sea Kings as agents of the sea-as-anti-DF-user cosmology (Sea Devils Curse Framing).
- Ch. 83: a Sea King is the proximate-cause of Hatchan’s flying from the Grand Line arrival on Momoo — Sea Kings as Grand-Line-tier-translocation-vectors.
- Ch. 101 pages 8-10: first on-page plural / colony appearance; first species-naming as Neptunians (Sanji); nest framing canonized. Multiple morphologies on-page in a single composition: striped serpent-bodied, beaked broccoli-spored, mollusk-coiled, fish-mawed.
- Ch. 648 pp. 2-7: The Sea Kings (Neptunians) reveal they serve a mermaid sovereign born once every few hundred years (Shirahoshi); they built/pull the ark Noah “for you to be born”; they protected Noah from Luffy’s destruction; and they must repair the crumbling ark “before the promised day arrives” — “a different age now.” They also perceive humans who can hear their voices (Luffy; “once before”).
