Execution countdown tightened on-page: “Only four hours remain until the public execution of Portgaz D. Ace” (p. 19), tracked alongside the successful 241-prisoner breakout. The clock now drives the fleet’s race to Marineford .
Ch. 525 p. 17 — “thirty-three hours until Ace’s execution”
As Luffy is smuggled into Impel Down , the narration starts a tightening countdown (“thirty-three hours…”), the same Oda clock-device used for Alabasta (10-day) and the Marineford week. The clock is planted at the exact moment Luffy breaches the prison.
