Recently elevated to the Five Elders, displacing/expanding the seat. Per Ch. 1163, Garling delivered the killing blow to Rocks at God Valley — not Roger or Garp. Father of the Figarland twins (Shanks and Shamrock) — stated to his face on-page (“Shamrock, Shanks, it’s your father!”, Ch. 1159). The twins’ mother is drawn but never named on-page (“Magnolia” per Film: Red supplementary). Functions as Imu’s chief enforcer in the modern era.

• 33 years ago, captioned “Commander, Holy Knights of God (Figarland Family) St. Garling” (p. 7). Grants King Harald a Shallows Covenant, explains the three-stage Covenant + the 13 who contract with the True God, and promises a “proper knight… will know the truth in the depths of the world” (p. 6). Orders Harald to keep a den-den-mushi and reveal nothing of the Holy Land (p. 7).
