Summary

On Egghead, St. Saturn has bodily disembarked and the Marines panic that a Gorosei walked ashore from Mariejois. Bonney has stabbed Saturn through the head, but his wound seals as the spilled blood vanishes — he is unharmed and pins the whole crew in place with an unseen force (“it’s like I’m bein’ held down”). A downed Kizaru apologizes for failing him; Atlas lands a “Strong Right” on Saturn to no effect. Saturn, naming Jewelry Bonney and Straw Hat Luffy, tells the assembled Vegapunks he wants them to die regretting their rebellion and asks which should die first. Bonney screams that Saturn killed her father — and Saturn answers by narrating Kuma’s origin: the last survivor of the extinct Buccaneer people, born into a slave caste, descended from a clan that committed a grave crime against the world. The chapter cuts to flashback: 47 years ago in Sorbet Kingdom (South Blue), baby Kuma is born and his father Clapp surrenders his Buccaneer blood to WG agents to protect him; Kuma’s mother soon dies and he is enslaved. Fellow slaves teach him the legend of the Sun God Nika, the warrior of liberation who will free them. The flashback jumps to God Valley, 38 years ago in West Blue, where Celestial Dragons hold their recurring “native-hunting competition” — Holy Knight St. Figarland Garling is the heavy favorite, having already cut down the king of the natives. Among the slaves to be hunted are young Emporio Ivankov and Ginny, and the recaptured “Buccaneer boy” Kuma is paraded as the grand prize.
