Name meaning
フィガーランド (Figārando). Germanic-heraldic compound readable as 'Fi-Gar-Land' = 'spear-land' — 'Gar/Ger' = spear/javelin + '-land' — which chains with the Garling gloss 'descendant of the spear / spearman' (Ger/Gar + '-ling'), a martial naming consistent with a sword-and-spear Holy-Knight line. A second, fan-circulated reading parses 'fig of the Holy Land' (the biblical fig / Tree of Knowledge), feeding the Celestial-Dragon-as-false-divinity motif. A World-Noble apex family supplying the Holy Knights' Supreme Commander and field Commander.

Lineage: a World-Noble / Celestial-Dragon line at the apex of the World Government — St. Figarland Garling (Five Elders, Supreme Commander of the Holy Knights) and his son Figarland Shamrock (the Holy Knights’ field Commander).

Unconfirmed / rumored members

  • Shanks — long theorized to be a Figarland (the red hair / elevated standing); Shamrock’s resemblance to Shanks sharpens the question. See Shanks Figarland Connection, Figarland Shamrock Mirrors Shanks. NOT canon-confirmed — record as rumored. (Superseded Ch. 1167 — see below: the on-page Figarland caption lands; identity with the Yonko still recent-chapter.)

Ch. 1167 — Shanks confirmed Figarland (on-page)

  • Shanks captioned “Devoted Blade of God (Figarland Family) St. Shanks” and named as Shamrock’s younger brother, separated after birth (pp. 12-13). The Figarland line now confirmed as Garling → Shamrock + Shanks (brothers). identity with the Yonko.

Why this family matters (plot weight)

Ch. 1137 reveals Figarland Shamrock as Garling’s son — Commander of the Holy Knights, leading the WG operation on Elbaf to subdue Prince Loki. The Figarland line now visibly spans a Five-Elder father (Garling) and a Holy-Knight-Commander son drawn as a near-double of Shanks, feeding the long-running Shanks/Figarland question.
