Profile
Fish-Man District — a quarter of Fish-Man Island down in the deep sea, described as poor and “kind of scary” (Ch. 608 pp. 13-14). Hatchan hails from here and is recovering here from his Sabaody injury; the colossal structure Noah — the New Fish-Man Pirates’ base, seat of their shadowed boss — sits in its deep sea (pp. 8, 13, 17). Contrasts with the rich district Fishverly Hills.

- Ch. 621 — (flashback, 16 years ago): the district’s origin — it “began as a giant orphanage” before falling into chaos when its managers lost control (pp. 14-15). The cradle of the Arlong/Jinbei generation: Arlong (the fiercest orphan), Jinbei (his then second-in-command), Macro (who “became a cheat and a kidnapper”) and Fisher Tiger (its boss before he left to adventure) all grew up here as “orphan brothers.” Its citizens later rose up to protect Fisher Tiger from the World Government (p. 16).
- Ch. 623 — (flashback): after Fisher Tiger’s death, Arlong declares himself the district’s boss — “if no one else wants to challenge me, I will be the boss of the Fish-Man District! I’ll protect my brothers of the Fish-Man District!” (p. 18) — the seizure of the district that grounds his later anti-human empire.
