Family reveal — the Gorgon Sisters named (Ch. 516)
- The two sisters referenced @0515 are now NAMED and SHOWN on-page: Boa Sandersonia (“Second of the Gorgon Sisters,” p. 13) and Boa Marigold (“Youngest of the Gorgon Sisters,” p. 12). With Hancock they are captioned collectively as the Gorgon Sisters (pp. 12-13) — three blood-sisters who lead the Kuja Pirates.
The slave past — Sonia & Mari (Ch. 521)
- The two sisters are referenced on-page as “Sonia” and “Mari” (full names Boa Sandersonia / Boa Marigold, established earlier in the arc). All three sisters were slaves of the Celestial Dragons, abducted at age 12 from a Kuja pirate ship and each given a Devil Fruit by their captors “to amuse themselves” (pp. 14, 17); each bears the Hoof of the Celestial Dragon on her back (the “Eye of the Gorgon”). Freed by Fisher Tiger’s raid on Marijoa, they were brought home and raised by Grandma Nyon — “like a mother” but not blood kin (pp. 18-19).
Why this family matters (plot weight)
The Boa sisters jointly rule and protect Amazon Lily and the Kuja. Only Hancock’s surname is printed on-page in Ch. 515; the on-page text confirms the sibling relationship — an explicit family reveal.
