The gauntlet verdict “The Giant Straw Hat Beneath Mariejois Is Joy Boy’s” refuted the theory’s central object-claim (SC1: no hat is drawn in the apex chamber) but routed SC5 — the forward-looking heirship-and-collapse clause — to a prediction because it has no textual settlement yet. The inherited-will structure it rides on IS on-page: Roger weeps “I wish I’d been born in your time!!” seeding a designated successor (Ch. 967), the reactivated Emet reads Luffy as Joy Boy’s heir (Ch. 1122 p.7), Vegapunk’s broadcast confirms Joy Boy commanded an erased faction (Ch. 1114), and Imu equates the hat-marked Luffy poster with Joy Boy (Ch. 1179, Ch. 1181 p.6). The low confidence reflects two honest headwinds: Oda planted a divergence against a clean heir-certainty — “the person who winds up with it may not be the one Joyboy desired” (Ch. 1121 p.14) — and Imu’s demonstrated Joy-Boy stake runs through the living heir / wanted poster, not through custody of a hat relic. The prediction deliberately affirms the generic heirship arc while betting AGAINST the specific Mariejois-hat mechanism the parent theory needs.

Both halves of this note moved, in opposite directions, and they cancel.

The negative clause (the half this note bets ON) strengthened. Ch. 1189 p.13 gives a founding-era double-spread of the apex chamber itself — “800 years ago… the 19 kings who forged our world… placed their swords all around the empty throne” — an on-page re-enumeration of the chamber’s contents as throne + ringed swords, with no straw-hat relic drawn, at the one moment such a relic would have been installed. And Imu’s Joy-Boy stake keeps running through the living Luffy, never a relic: Imu duels him personally (Ch. 1188), names him by full name and knows his brothers (Ch. 1189 pp. 6–7). The gauntlet’s SC1 kill (no hat in the apex chamber) holds and hardens.

The heirship clause weakened. Ch. 1188 p.14: “IT IS CLEAR… THOU ART NOT JOY BOY!! …JOY BOY WOULD NEVER BE THIS WEAK!!” — Imu recants the 1187 recognition — and the p. 2–3 flashback has Imu tell a caller claiming to be Joy Boy that “JOY BOY IS ALREADY DEAD.” This is genuine headwind against “a future reveal will confirm Luffy as heir to Joy Boy’s will.”

Not scored as a refuter firing. It is a villain’s mid-fight assessment of identity (Luffy IS Joy Boy), not narration excluding Luffy from the inheritance; the stated refuter requires “the endgame reveals an heir OTHER than Luffy… with Luffy explicitly excluded,” and no alternative heir exists. Both 1188 and 1189 were re-read from official VIZ. Every page cite and quotation in the July entry above is wrong; every one of its conclusions survives. Recorded precisely so a later pass does not re-derive the July wording from memory.

Corrections to the July entry.

The founders’ panel is at 1189 p.15, not p.13, and it is not a double-spread — no spread exists anywhere in VIZ 1189. VIZ reads “EIGHT HUNDRED YEARS AGO… THE 19 KINGS WHO CREATED THIS WORLD… …TOOK AN OATH OF EQUALITY, THRUSTING THEIR WEAPONS INTO THE FLOOR AROUND THE EMPTY THRONE!!!” The right column of that page does draw the Empty Throne ringed by the founders’ weapons — and still draws no straw hat. The negative clause’s evidence is real, just relocated.
Imu’s recant is at 1188 p.17, not p.14, and reads “OF COURSE I KNOW… / …THAT THOU ART NOT JOYBOY!!” / “JOYBOY… / …WAS NOT THIS WEAK!!” — note the past tense, which aims at the historical Joy Boy rather than at a counterfactual.
The Joy-Boy-caller flashback is on p.3 alone, not pp.2–3 (pp.1–2 are the anniversary colour centrespread), and reads “INDEED… / JOYBOY IS LONG DEAD…” It is unmarked and undated, and no Den Den Mushi is drawn — only radiating balloons and static.
Imu’s naming of Luffy and his brothers is at 1189 pp.7–8, not pp.6–7.

Negative clause (the half this note bets ON) hardens again. Ch. 1190 p.10 gives an actual Mariejois-coded throne hall in flashback — Imu decreeing “SPREAD NOT THAT NAME!” over kneeling retainers — and its drawn contents are a throne hall and retainers. No hat. Refuter-grep across all five chapters returns zero hits for National Treasure, Pangaea, relic, or any oversized/preserved hat; every “Straw Hat” string in the window is the crew name or Luffy’s epithet.
Heirship clause partly restored. The 1188 recant is answered in Ch. 1190 by a member of Roger’s own crew: Gaban argues Imu’s effort to erase Luffy is itself the proof — “BECAUSE YOU’RE GOING OUT OF YOUR WAY TO ELIMINATE HIM!! / IS THAT NOT PROOF ENOUGH?!” (p.10) — concluding ”…THIS BOY IS THE VERY MAN… …WE’VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR!!!” (p.11). The same page shows Roger in flashback: “SOMEONE WILL BE BORN… …AND EVENTUALLY SURPASS US!!” / “WE WERE JUST TOO EARLY.” That is the designated-successor structure this note rides on, spoken on-page.

Counter-weight, kept honest. Ch. 1192 p.10 has Usopp refuse the frame outright — “People compare him to Nika or Joyboy… or even Roger, at times!!! … No, I don’t!! I don’t care!!” This fires no refuter (it names no alternative heir and excludes Luffy from nothing), but it is a deliberate authorial counterweight to inheritance-framing and is why the bump is capped at +0.02.
