Profile
The “Sky People” (Skypieans) are a winged humanoid people native to the sky islands of the White-White Sea, marked by small feathered wings and antenna-like head halos. Named on-page as the “Sky People” in the war-origin lore (Ch. 248); first shown via the Heaven’s Gate inspector Amazon (Ch. 238) and the Angel-Island civilians Conis & Pagaya (Ch. 239). The people split on-page into two nations: the native Skypieans of Angel Island and the Birkans — Enel’s invading army out of the destroyed sky island Bilka, who seized Upper Yard six years before the arc.
Defining traits
- Ch. 238–0239 — Phenotype: small feathered wings + halo-like head ring; otherwise human-proportioned (no giant scaling). Live entirely on cloud-material islands.
- Ch. 248, Ch. 255 — Sociology: at a ~400-year war with the Shandians over Upper Yard (the risen Vearth they seized). Full lore: Sky People and Shandian War.

Sabaody Archipelago (Ch. 498)
- The rookie pirate captain Urouge (“Mad Monk,” Fallen Monk Pirates) debuts with the origin caption “From Sky Island” — a sky-island native operating among the Blue-Sea Supernovas (p. 17). Origin-based inference; his exact sky sub-group (Skypiean/Birkan/Shandian) is not confirmed on-page. See Sky Island Existence.
