Summary

After the masked “Sky Knight” thrashes the Straw Hats and departs, the crew comes to and pieces together the basics of sky geography: a stratified set of seas (Blue Sea below the clouds, White Sea at 23,000 ft, White-White Sea / upper stratum at 33,000 ft). The armored stranger returns and introduces himself as Ganfor the Sky Knight, a soldier of fortune who sells protection from the sky-fish-riding guerrillas; he hands Nami a free whistle (“one whistle for five million extols”) in honor of their courage in riding the Knock Up Stream, then rides off on his partner Pierre — a bird that, via the Horse-Horse Fruit, becomes a winged horse the crew likens to a Pegasus. The Going Merry then sails toward a cloud “waterfall,” discovering the bouncy cloud is a soft floor the crew plays on, and finds an enormous arch reading HEAVEN’S GATE. There an old winged woman, Amazon, the Heaven’s Gate inspector, photographs them and states the law: entry to the upper stratum costs one billion extols per person. The penniless crew elects to pass anyway; Amazon declines to stop them (“I’m neither a gatekeeper nor a guardian… that choice is entirely your own”) and a giant lobster-creature (“Lobster Express”) surfaces to carry the ship up the waterfall. Amazon then reports that seven people have illegally entered Godland Skypiea — to “render heavenly judgment.”
