Profile
The Devil Fruit of Charlotte Katakuri, named on-page as a “special Paramythia [Paramecia]” power (Ch. 863, p. 15). It lets him generate, shape, and control sticky mochi (glutinous rice cake) — shown trapping Luffy’s arms and legs as he tried to break Mother Carmel’s picture (Ch. 863, pp. 13-15). The “special Paramecia” billing (behaving Logia-like) is flagged but its full mechanics are forward.

Awakening
Awakened on-page Ch. 882 (pp. 10-11) during the Mirro-World duel with Luffy. Where the power had been used to produce and shape mochi from Katakuri’s own body, the awakened form converts the surrounding terrain — the dimension’s floor flows into mochi (“Flowing Mochi”; “the ground turned into mochi”) — the same class of effect as Doflamingo’s awakened strings at Dressrosa. Luffy names it directly: “It’s that thing Doflamingo did!!” / Katakuri: “My powers are awakened.” / “Naturally.” See Charlotte Katakuri, Devil Fruit Awakening.
Power limits & weaknesses
- Per Jinbei (Ch. 863, p. 15): a target can escape “if there’s enough moisture” — water dissolves/loosens the mochi — “but try not to touch it.”
- Fits the Charlotte Family / Big Mom Pirates food-naming theme (Katakuri = katakuriko starch, Minister of Flour).
