Summary
Inside the rubble of the Mirro-World, Luffy unveils a brand-new third form of Gear Fourth — “Snake-Man” (p. 2) — a leaner, faster shape whose elastic-tension punches curve and accelerate in mid-flight, snaking around to chase their target (“Python”, p. 6). The speed and unpredictable angles begin to slip past Katakuri’s future-sight (“Why did it come from the side?!”, p. 5), and a Jet Culverin lands a clean hit (pp. 7-8). Katakuri answers with a spiked Buzz Cut Mochi defense that snares and shreds Luffy (pp. 9-11), but Luffy breaks free. Now openly bleeding and starving, Luffy yells out his pain (“Aaah, the pain!! I’m so hungry!!”, p. 12) and declares he fights by shouting everything he’s thinking — “It feels much better that way!!” (p. 12) — while a guarded Katakuri (“What… are you saying?”) trades blows. The duel escalates to a Black Mamba barrage (p. 14) and a charged King Cobra finisher (p. 17), which collides head-on with Katakuri’s Buzz Cut Mochi as the chapter cuts off mid-clash. (One Piece off the following week — outcome withheld.)
New reveals
- Gear 4 “Snake-Man” (p. 2) — Luffy’s third numbered Gear-Fourth form, after Boundman (Ch. 784) and Tankman (Ch. 842). Slimmer and faster than Boundman (“I’m faster!!!”, p. 3); trades Boundman’s size/power for speed.
- Snake-Man’s signature: punches that bend and accelerate after release, snaking around obstacles to track a fleeing target — Python (p. 6).
- Named Snake-Man attacks this chapter: Python (mid-flight redirect, p. 6), Jet Culverin (accelerating straight punch, p. 7), Black Mamba (rapid homing barrage, p. 14), King Cobra (finisher, p. 17).
- Katakuri’s “Buzz Cut Mochi” (pp. 9, 16) — a spiked mochi defense/snare that catches and shreds an incoming attacker.
- Luffy openly yells his pain and hunger mid-fight (“I’m so hungry!! It hurts!!!”, p. 12); Katakuri, huffing but guarded, only asks “What… are you saying?” — his future-sight still working.
- Luffy’s fighting philosophy stated: he yells out everything he’s thinking and it “feels much better that way” (p. 12) — an explicit contrast with the guarded Katakuri.

Open questions raised
- Can Snake-Man’s speed and mid-flight redirection ultimately overcome Katakuri’s future-sight Observation Haki, or does Luffy need something more? **
- What is Katakuri hiding behind his guarded persona? **
- Who wins the King Cobra / Buzz Cut Mochi clash? (cliffhanger — outcome not shown)
