Foxy Pirates
Profile
An enemy pirate crew encountered at Long Ring Long Land. Named on-page in Ch. 304 (p. 15, “We are the Foxy Pirates”): their ship — which had been trailing the Going Merry disguised as a flagless, sail-less, near-lifeless derelict (the crew so demoralized Chopper “can barely detect any life,” p. 3) — bursts up bearing a fox/cat-skull jolly roger reading “FOXY.” Three shadowed figures declare: “We are the Foxy Pirates… Don’t be hasty. What we want… is a duel!”
The captain (Foxy, the “Silver Fox”) and named officers (Porche, Hamburg) appear here ONLY as unidentified silhouettes — their names are not spoken on-page this chapter, so no individual Character notes are minted yet (those are minted @0305 when they are named/shown). The “duel” they propose is the contest later named the Davy Back Fight (Davy Back Fight).
A crew that specializes in the Davy Back Fight — the pirate game by which they steal crew members from other crews. The captain and his named warriors are revealed @ Ch. 305.
Roster over time
Era: Long Ring Long Land introduction (Ch. 304–)
Named on-page @ Ch. 305 (captions, pp. 11–12). The full roster is larger and expands in subsequent chapters; @0304 the crew appeared only as unidentified silhouettes.

|---|---|---|---|
| Itomimizu | Party Commander / Davy Back Fight MC (Super Sparrow, South Blue) | ||
| Capote | marlin (Porche’s Donut Race mount) | ||
| Monda | star-spotted smoothhound shark (Porche’s Donut Race mount) | ||
| (former Fang Frog Pirates officers) | conscripted crew (captain/navigator/carpenter/doctor) | via prior Davy Back Fight |
The crew grows largely by winning Davy Back Fights, conscripting the losing crew’s members. Their numbers include the entire former officer corps of the absorbed Fang Frog Pirates (p. 7).
Donut Race boat (Ch. 307): the Cutie Wagon — crewed by Monda (rower/helmsman), with Porche, Hamburg, and the fish-man Capote. (The Straw Hats race in their boat the Barrel Tiger.)

| Pickles | ”Groggy Monster” — “the Tackle Machine” | (first seen @0309) | |
| Big Pan | ”Groggy Monster” — half fish-man / half giant (“Big Bun the Fish-Giant”) | (first seen @0309) | |
| Chopper | conscripted Davy-Back-Fight spoils (forced ship’s doctor) | @0309 (won in Donut Race) | (contested — Straw Hats aim to reclaim) |
The “Groggy Monsters” (Hamburg / Pickles / Big Pan) are the crew’s Round 2 (Groggy Ring) squad. Chopper’s conscription is a temporary/contested Davy-Back-Fight stake — recorded here as transient, not a permanent member.

| Hamburg | ”Groggy Monster” — aerial catcher (“Hamburger Dunk”) | ||
| Pickles | ”Groggy Monster” — “Tackle Machine” (Sling/Wipeout/Spinning Tackle, Gorilla Throw) | ||
| Big Pan | ”Groggy Monster” — fish-giant powerhouse (mudfish blood → slick skin; “Punk Pass”/“Punk Dig”) |
The “Groggy Monsters” play the Groggy Ring against Zoro & Sanji Ch. 310; they dominate the opening exchanges but the first goal attempt is denied when Zoro & Sanji refuse to cooperate.
Era: Long Ring Long Land — Groggy Ring “Rough Game” (Ch. 311)
| Member | Role | Joined | Left |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hamburg | ”Groggy Monsters” leader (ball-handler; “Punk Spike” steel-cuff attack) | ||
| Big Pan | ”Groggy Monster” — slippery fish-giant (“Mudfish Slippery Slide” evasion) | ||
| Pickles | ”Groggy Monster” — tackling player | ||
| (unnamed slippery fish-man) | “Groggy Monster” player |
Ch. 311 the Groggy Monsters dominate Round 2 with the Small/Medium/Large “size attack” combo and Hamburg’s “Punk Spike,” aided by a corrupt referee, chasing the “second victory” that would conscript a second Straw Hat. (The “unnamed slippery fish-man” descriptor here is the same fish-giant Big Pan, captioned per-chapter; do not mint a separate note.)
Era: Long Ring Long Land — Groggy Ring climax (Ch. 312)

| Big Pan | ”Groggy Monster” (fish-giant; VIZ “Big Bun”) — the team’s heavy, used as the thrown body in the “Monster Burger” and ultimately as the scored “ball” | ||
| Pickles | ”Groggy Monster” (twin spinning swords) | ||
| Hamburg | ”Groggy Monster” (Round 2 Groggy Ring team) |
The three form the Groggy Monsters, the Foxy crew’s Groggy Ring team, billed by their own MC Itomimizu as “invincible” (Ch. 312 pp. 2, 17). Their food-themed names (Big Pan/“bun,” Pickles, Hamburg) match the crew’s culinary register; their team-finisher is the three-step “Monster Burger” (pp. 4–6). Turned on each other by Sanji, they lose the goal — Team Straw Hat scores (“GOOOAAALLL!!”). Foxy spectates as captain.
Crew lineage
Built by absorbing defeated crews through the Davy Back Fight. The defunct Fang Frog Pirates were folded in wholesale — their former captain, navigator, carpenter, and doctor now serve Foxy after losing five three-coin games (Ch. 306 p. 7). No separate crew note is minted for the Fang Frog Pirates (absorbed, defunct).

Notable events
- Ch. 304 — First appearance; shed the “derelict” disguise and challenge the Straw Hats to a duel.
- Ch. 305 — Captain Foxy “the Silver Fox” (bounty 24,000,000) and warriors Porche and Hamburg named on-page; Foxy challenges the Straw Hats to a three-coin Davy Back Fight under orthodox rules (p. 14) after investigating their bounties. The crew shoots Tonjit’s horse Sherry on arrival (p. 10).
- Ch. 306 — Both captains agree and fire the starting signal, formally opening the three-game Davy Back Fight. MC Itomimizu (“Party Commander,” a Super Sparrow from South Blue) administers the Three Articles of Defeat. Round 1 = the Donut Race: Porche rides the marlin Capote and the shark Monda vs the Straw Hats’ Nami/Usopp/Robin. The crew’s lineage is revealed to include the absorbed Fang Frog Pirates officers (p. 7).
- Ch. 307 — Round 1 (Donut Race) continues. The crew runs their boat the Cutie Wagon: Monda rows/steers while Foxy and Hamburg coach (p. 4); Capote — confirmed a fish-man — uses Fish-Man Karate (“Sea Surface Split”) to cleave the water and disrupt the boats (pp. 9, 14, 17); Porche uses an unnamed Devil-Fruit power (the “slow-beam”) to flip the Straw Hat boat (p. 11 — “Is that Devil Fruit power?!”). A large unnamed audience/crew hurl boulders and cannon fire as legal “outside support.” Captain Foxy (“the genius of interference”) makes his grand four-footed entrance at the cliffhanger (p. 19), promising “something evil.” (Foxy’s & Porche’s Devil-Fruit powers are NOT named on-page through 0307.)
- Ch. 308 — Donut Race finale. Captain Foxy runs the race via deception only (Smoke Screen, White-Out/Coral Blind, Bogus Sign Blitz, Bogus Goal Blitz) — no Devil Fruit shown. Capote + Monda deploy the “Twin Fishpower Engine” (p. 11); Porche uses a “Cutie Baton” (p. 15); Hamburg coaches; MC Itomimizu narrates. Race ends unresolved (winner forward).
- Ch. 309 — Win Round 1 (Donut Race): Foxy’s Noro Noro no Mi (“Slow-Slow Fruit,” named on-page p. 6) slows the Straw Hat boat at the finish; the crew claims Chopper as conscripted spoils (pp. 9–12). For Round 2, the Groggy Ring, they field the “Groggy Monsters”: Hamburg (“four-footed dash freak”), Pickles (“the Tackle Machine”), and Big Pan (half fish-man / half giant) (pp. 17–18).
- Ch. 310 — Round 2 (Groggy Ring). The “Groggy Monsters” dominate the opening exchanges: Pickles (“Tackle Machine”) opens on the charge (Sling/Wipeout/Spinning Tackle, Gorilla Throw); the fish-giant Big Pan (mudfish blood → slick skin) deploys “Punk Pass” / “Punk Dig”; Hamburg catches ball-man Sanji midair for an attempted “Hamburger Dunk.” The first goal is denied when Zoro & Sanji refuse to let each other be involved (pp. 18–20).
- Ch. 311 — Round 2 (Groggy Ring), “Rough Game.” The “Groggy Monsters” — leader Hamburg, Big Pan, Pickles, and a giant slippery fish-man — batter the Straw Hats’ ball-men Zoro & Sanji. Aided by a corrupt referee (ignores the Monsters’ weapons/spiked shoes; yellow-cards Sanji), they dominate with a Small/Medium/Large “size attack” combo, Hamburg’s steel-cuff “Punk Spike,” and “Mudfish Slippery Slide” evasion, scoring direct hits and crowing about an imminent “second victory.” Cliffhanger: Zoro asks Sanji for “ten seconds.” (pp. 2–15.)
- Ch. 312 — Round 2 (Groggy Ring) climax — “GOAL!!” The Groggy Monsters (Big Pan/“Big Bun,” Pickles, Hamburg) unleash the lethal three-step “Monster Burger” combo (pp. 4–6) but are turned on each other by Sanji and lose the goal: Team Straw Hat scores (“GOOOAAALLL!!”, pp. 16–19) despite MC Itomimizu’s “the Groggy Monsters are invincible.” Sanji launches Big Pan airborne (“Armée de l’Air”); Zoro slams the fish-giant into the Foxy goal ring; Nico Robin & Nami disable the referee to suppress the red-card call. Foxy spectates as captain — the crew loses Round 2.
- Ch. 313 — Lose Round 2 (Groggy Ring); the Straw Hats reclaim Chopper. Foxy declares Round 3: Combat (one-on-one captain’s duel) with an irreversible-prize rule. Crew origin stated on-page: a small group of pirates from the East Blue under a captain undefeated in 920 consecutive matches (p. 18). The combat battlefield “by chance” lands beside their own flagship the Sexy Foxy (pp. 12–13). Porche leads warm-up cheerleading on the ship’s bow (pp. 14–15). (No Foxy-Pirates Devil Fruit named on-page this chapter.)
- Ch. 314 — Round 3 (Combat) fought aboard the crew’s own ship, the Sexy Foxy. Captain Foxy duels Luffy and dominates with his slow-beam, ending the chapter on an apparent overwhelming victory via a rigged simultaneous barrage of slowed cannonballs and “Foxy Face Bombs.” MC Itomimizu narrates; Porche and Hamburg in the crowd cheering “BOSS!!” The ship name Sexy Foxy is reaffirmed as the battlefield (pp. 5–7, 16–19).
- Ch. 315 — Round 3 (Combat) continues, Luffy vs Foxy. Foxy fights from inside the crew’s own flagship the Sexy Foxy (named @0313; its trap-rigged interior is the Combat-round battlefield), weaponizing the vessel’s Face Bombs, treadmill hall, trap door, spike rooms, and gun-deck cannons (pp. 2–14) plus his Noro Noro no Mi Slow-Slow Beam and the new combo “Nine-Tails Rush” (p. 18). Itomimizu MCs from outside (“Even I, the commentator, cannot enter!” — p. 11). The interior is mapped: infirmary, kitchen, gun deck, spike rooms. Cliffhanger on a sealed, rattling door Foxy has herded Luffy toward (p. 19).
- Ch. 316 — Round 3 (Combat) runs in full, below deck on the Sexy Foxy. Captain Foxy deploys his Noro Noro no Mi Slow-Slow Beam (now shown to reflect off mirrors, a “Mirror Racket,” pp. 5–7), the “Gorilla Puncher #13” punching-machine wall (fists that burn), the “Slowpoke Ball Demon Coach,” a “Slow-Slow Beam Sword,” and the “Megaton Nine-Tails Rush.” The duel is invisible to the audience, who cheer “BOSS!!” Luffy refuses to fall (cliffhanger). (Last of Vol. 33; round resolves Ch. 317.)
- Ch. 317 — The Foxy Pirates LOSE the Davy Back Fight to the Straw Hats (“K.O.”). Captain Foxy is KO’d in the Combat round when Luffy reflects his own Slow-Slow Beam back with a hidden afro-mirror (Chekhov payoff of the Ch. 316 mirror-reflection mechanic) and lands an accumulated rush the instant the ~30-second slow expires (“ZERO!!”). The KO ends Foxy’s 920-match undefeated streak; the crew cheers “BOSS!!” ringside but cannot save him. (Disposition of the crew resolves @0318 “Closure.”)
- Ch. 318 (“Closure”) — The Davy Back Fight ends. As victor, Luffy declines to conscript a crew member and instead seizes their Jolly Roger (p. 11; Foxy protests: “You have no scruples about snatching away the symbol of pirate pride?!”), then draws them a crude replacement flag so they can still legally put to sea (pp. 12–13). The crew departs vowing revenge (“We’ll… remember… this!!”, p. 14).
- Offered-but-unrecruited crew names spoken on-page (p. 10): Gina (ship carpenter), Donovan (carpenter who can fight), Chappy. None join the Straw Hats. (Passing names only — no Character notes warranted; recorded here for roster completeness.)
