Arc-by-arc updates

Long Ring Long Land (Ch. 306)

Long Ring Long Land — Donut Race (Ch. 307)

  • Confirmed a fish-man (Fish-Men): uses Fish-Man Karate (“Sea Surface Split”) to cleave the water and propel/disrupt the boats during the Donut Race (pp. 9, 14, 17). Resolves the 0306 “Marlin Fish-Man” verification flag — Capote is a marlin-type fish-man, not an ordinary fish.
  • Rides in the Cutie Wagon with Porche and Monda.

Long Ring Long Land — Donut Race (Ch. 308)

  • Named technique: “Twin Fishpower Engine” — combines his Fish-Man Karate muscle with the shark Monda’s tail-fin to double the Cutie Wagon’s speed, plowing the boat straight through Long Coral Reef (“With Fish-Man Capote’s muscles and the shark’s tail-fin… they double their speed!”, p. 11). Confirms Capote + Monda are a deliberate coordinated propulsion unit, not two stray fish.

Notes

  • Etymology (conservative): No sourced gloss found (One Piece Wiki has no etymology section). カポーティ matches Spanish “capote” (a cape, esp. the bullfighter’s cape) — a coherent but unverified pun for a billfish fish-man whose bill reads as a sword (matador/sword imagery). Homophone with author Truman Capote is likewise unsourced. Not asserted in frontmatter.
