Summary
Round 1 of the Davy Back Fight — the Donut Race — begins at Long Ring Long Land. A referee explains the rules: each team rows one lap around a donut-shaped course circling the island; all lethal weapons are permitted and “those who flee in fear will be disgraced as pirates.” The Straw Hats enter their boat the Barrel Tiger (Luffy, Nami, Robin, Usopp, Sanji, Zoro, Chopper aboard or cheering), while the Foxy Pirates row the Cutie Wagon (Porche, Capote, the giant-helmsman Monda, coached by Hamburg). At the start, the Foxy Pirates immediately launch an “interference attack,” and their own crewmates in the audience hurl boulders and cannon fire at the Straw Hat boat — legal under Davy Back rules, which permit “outside support.” The Straw Hats counter: Sanji uses Fire Star, Robin uses her Hana-Hana powers (Ocho Fleurs) to seize and flip the enemy boat, Capote the fish-man splits the sea with Fish-Man Karate, and Porche uses a Devil-Fruit power to capsize the Barrel Tiger. The race seesaws: Nami reveals she smuggled Skypiean Dials off the sky island — a Wind Dial to gust them forward, then Usopp unleashes an Impact Dial as a thruster that nearly tears his arms off but rockets the Barrel Tiger into a commanding lead. The Foxy boat counters with a “secret weapon” of sudden acceleration. As both boats round toward an obstacle — Long Coral Reef, then Long Cape and the Long Ring Whirlpool — the Foxy captain finally appears: Foxy, the “Silver Fox,” the four-footed “genius of interference, infamous for obstructing fair play,” who grins that he’s “just thought up… something evil.”
New reveals
- The Davy Back Fight’s opening contest is the Donut Race (Round 1): each team must row one full lap of a donut-shaped course around Long Ring Long Land, start = goal (pp. 2–3).
- Davy Back Fight rules: pistols, cannons, cutlasses and “other lethal weapons are all permitted,” and outside support / audience attacks from non-participants are legal (pp. 3, 6–8). “Those who flee in fear will be disgraced as pirates” (p. 3).

- Hamburg coaches the Cutie Wagon from Foxy’s side (“Do you think this race will last even five minutes, Hamburg?”) (pp. 4, 9, 12).
- Nami brought Skypiean Dials down from the sky island — she has three (referencing the three on board) and deploys a Wind Dial and an Impact Dial in the race (pp. 12, 15–16). First on-page use of Dials outside Skypiea / in the Blue Sea.
- Foxy, the “Silver Fox” is named and revealed: the Foxy Pirates’ captain, “the four-footed dash freak,” “the genius of interference, infamous for obstructing fair play,” wearing “the face of someone who’s just thought of something evil” (p. 19).

Open questions raised
- What is Porche’s Devil Fruit? (Power shown p. 11, fruit unnamed.)
- What is Foxy’s own power / the “something evil” he’s just devised? (p. 19.)
- Who wins the Donut Race, and what does the Davy Back Fight stake actually cost the loser? (“Win, and you’ll be celebrating — lose, and you’ll be sinking!” p. 2 — i.e., crew members can be taken.)
- How does each boat clear the Long Ring Whirlpool obstacle? (p. 18.)
