Summary

A history-lesson flashback (~42 years ago, the “era of Rocks”). The Rocks Pirates loot the corrupt M Bezel International Charity Sanctuary — Wang Zhi laughing amid the gunfire, Shiki burying crewmate Kyo alive as a prank — then are ambushed by the Navy; captain Rocks orders “Sink ‘em all… and take their loot!!!” Narration tallies the crew’s crimes (16 raids, 76 sunken ships, a kingdom ruined, 14 ports burned) and names the age after them; Gol D. Roger sailed the same seas. In the New World nation of Enishi, King King Harald of Elbaf defends an unaffiliated country that fed Elbaf during a famine, sinking a warship and being smeared as a traitor by the World Economic Journal. At Ida’s Bar on Elbaf and at Navy HQ we learn Harald wants Elbaf to join the World Government, that Rocks keeps trying to recruit him, and that the Marines fear Elbaf’s giants; Kong, Otsuru, Sengoku and Garp weigh how to bring Elbaf onto their side. At Fullalead, fans mourn that Shakuyaku has stepped down as Kuja Pirates captain (for lovesickness, “just like Gloriosa” — who joined the Rocks Pirates); Shakky arrives on Pirate Island, refuses to join Rocks, and opens the legendary Shakky’s Rip-off Bar to hide from the Navy. Finally at Mariejois the Five Elders set Harald’s terms to join the World Government — “Kill Rocks.”
