The claim
Shanks is of the Figarland line — the Celestial-Dragon family that fields the Holy Knights' commander Figarland Garling and his son Figarland Shamrock. Shamrock is drawn as Shanks's exact mirror (same face, red hair, three-scar register, wardrobe) and shares the Figarland name; the vault reads them as blood relations (twin / brother). This is the buried explanation for Shanks's unknown origins, his ease of access to Mary Geoise, and the 'unspeakable Marijoa matter' he shares with King Harald (@1152). FORWARD-GUARD: the explicit on-page Figarland→Shanks reveal lands past 1157 — the resemblance and shared name are on-page, the kinship is the predictive content.

That Figarland Shamrock exists, commands the Holy Knights, is Garling’s son, and is drawn as a Shanks look-alike is on-page (Ch. 1138+). That is NOT the prediction. This note forecasts the unstated kinship: Shanks himself carries Figarland blood and Shamrock is his relation. The explicit reveal lands past 1157.

Reasoning

Converging techniques (5 distinct)

face/hair/scar quotation. See Figarland Shamrock Mirrors Shanks.

  • wardrobe-foreshadow — the matched cloak/hat/scar wardrobe is Oda’s standard tell for a hidden family bond (cf. Sabo/Ace, the Vinsmokes). See Figarland Shamrock Mirrors Shanks.
  • name-etymology — the shared Figarland surname ties Shamrock, Garling and (by prediction) Shanks into one Celestial house. See Shanks Figarland Connection.
  • parallel-arc-structure — Shamrock’s Holy-Knight raiders “hunting Loki” at Aurust restage a Shanks-adjacent siege, and Shamrock’s “Contact Marijoa” command mirrors Shanks’s own Reverie-tier standing. See Aurust Castle intruders hunting Loki.
  • dialogue-from-dead-character — the withheld “unspeakable Marijoa matter” between Shanks and the murdered Harald is the dead-king register Oda reserves for a load-bearing secret. See Shanks and Harald’s Unspeakable Marijoa Matter.

Resolution

2026-07-02 — Status: confirmed via Ch. 1167 (with Ch. 1158, Ch. 1159, Ch. 1170).

What happened: The God Valley flashback shows red-haired twin boys born at God Valley 39 years ago named Shamrock and Shanks (Ch. 1158 p.15), presented by their mother to their father Figarland Garling (“Shamrock, Shanks, it’s your father!”, Ch. 1159 pp.4–5). Ch. 1167 then caption-confirms it outright: “Devoted Blade of God (Figarland Family) St. Shanks,” introduced to King Harald as “the younger brother of Shamrock, separated after birth” (pp.12–13). Ch. 1170 adds that the Holy Knights repeatedly tried to reclaim “the son of our commander,” a red-haired child (= Shanks) raised instead among the Roger crew.

What we got right / wrong: The “deliberate red-herring look-alike” and “resemblance without kinship” refuters are both dead.

Confidence calibration check: We filed at 0.75; in retrospect this was well-calibrated, mildly under-confident — the dense multi-channel stack (visual-silhouette + wardrobe + shared-name + parallel-structure + dead-character dialogue) did all point at a single target, and the note itself flagged that stack profile as “systematically under-priced,” which the clean captioned confirmation bears out.

What would refute this

Calibration note

Filed 0.75 — a dense multi-channel stack (visual + wardrobe + name + structural + dead-character dialogue) pointing at one target, the profile calibration flags as systematically under-priced; held at 0.75 rather than 0.8+ only because the exact relation (twin vs. sibling vs. cast-out parent-line) is unresolved and the red-herring alternative is live. Not a universal-quantifier or canon-inversion claim.
