This note predicts the unstated mechanic and counter: that it is Killingham’s Devil Fruit and that it is beaten by facing one’s own fear. The confirmation lands past 1157.

2026-07-02 — Status: partially-confirmed via Ch. 1172 (with Ch. 1173, Ch. 1176, Ch. 1178, Ch. 1182).

What happened: The fear/nightmare manifestation is confirmed on-page as St. Killingham’s power — his “sleeptids,” nightmare-monsters that manifest the giant children’s greatest fears (e.g. the drawn Lindworm), tasked to keep the giants occupied (Ch. 1172, Ch. 1176). The “personal demons” register pays off in an inverted form: an “overzealous” Killingham summons the thing he fears — the God of Rain ZaZa — which terrorizes his own side (Ch. 1182). The Nika-as-target tell is supported: a counterfeit “God of Destruction / Nika” sleeptid is paraded to terrorize the children (Ch. 1173), and the Holy Land’s nursery boogeymen are named as “the people of the D, Nika, and the Rain God” (Ch. 1182).

What we got right / wrong: Right that the power is Killingham’s fear/nightmare manifestation and that Nika sits at the centre of the Holy Knights’ fear-catechism. Two gaps: (a) it is not captioned as a “Devil Fruit” per se on-page; and (b) the predicted defeat-mechanism — victims break the demons by confronting their own fears — is largely NOT how it resolved: the demonized giants are cured by Chopper’s plain blows (“flip back to white,” Ch. 1178) and the sleeptids fall to force (the young giants’ Warrior Generation, Zoro). Refuter #3 (“beaten by force, not catharsis”) partially fired. Held to partially-confirmed.

Confidence calibration check: We filed at 0.55 (deliberately bottom-band); in retrospect well-calibrated — the marquee “it’s Killingham’s power” identification paid on-page, while the softer mechanic clauses (fruit-or-not, break-by-catharsis) resolved differently — exactly the information a low-band mechanic-call is filed to surface.

2026-07-29 — Re-scored at frontier 1189. Still partially-confirmed.

Checked 1183-1189 (past the 1182 update). Killingham’s authorship keeps hardening — the God of Rain ZaZa is captioned outright as “Killingham’s Sleeptid” as it floods the Western Village and carries children off (Ch. 1187), and Killingham himself steps into direct combat wielding the founder-weapon Longinus — a spear — of the Rimoshifu family (Ch. 1189 p.16; VIZ captions only the family, so the wielder is carried reader-knowledge) . But neither of the two open sub-clauses advanced: the power is still never captioned as a “Devil Fruit” (the “sleeptid” classification is used instead, which if anything leans toward the Holy-Knight-rite alternative rather than confirming Robin’s fruit hypothesis), and the predicted defeat-by-confronting-one’s-own-fear mechanism still did not materialize — the sleeptids are met with force and the fear-crisis is now being weaponized for mass child-abduction, not undone by catharsis. Refuter #3 stays partially fired; no refuter fired fully (the core identification and the Nika-as-target tell remain intact), so the note holds at partially-confirmed.

2026-08-06 — Clause-level re-score (frontier 1189). Holds at partially-confirmed; the ceiling is now fully understood.

Correcting the 2026-07-29 note’s Devil-Fruit read, which was too conservative. The DF-classification clause is effectively paid, not open. Killingham’s fruit is name-carded on-page as the Dragon-Dragon Fruit, Mythical Type, Model: Kirin — “Dream-Manifesting-Man” (Ch. 1143 p.10). That descriptor is the on-page statement that the dream/nightmare-manifestation is a Devil-Fruit power — precisely Robin’s “the quickest answer to most mysteries in this world is a Devil Fruit” hypothesis. The residue behind the earlier hedge is only a naming layer: the manifested monsters are labelled “sleeptids,” and no single sentence reads “the sleeptids are produced by his Devil Fruit.” But “sleeptid” names the creatures, not a competing classification of the power, so it does not contradict the fruit. Treat clause (a) as vindicated.

What permanently caps the note below full confirmation is the defeat-mechanism clause in the title — “beaten by confronting one’s own demons.” That did not happen: the demons fell to force (the young giants’ Warrior Generation, Zoro) and to Chopper’s unexplained blows (Ch. 1178), not to victim-catharsis. Because the prediction is a conjunction (Killingham’s dream Devil Fruit AND beaten-by-catharsis) and the second conjunct is falsified, the DF-clause upgrade cannot lift the note — it is locked at partially-confirmed. 2026-09-08 — Re-verified against the corrected Ch. 1188 / Ch. 1189 (official VIZ re-read replacing the TCB fan-scanlation). No movement — holds partially-confirmed, confidence 0.55 unchanged.

The note’s only 1188/1189-sourced leg is the 2026-07-29 paragraph about Killingham and Longinus, and the VIZ record leaves its substance intact while trimming its precision:

• Survives: “This spear has been passed down through the Rimoshifu family.” / “LONGINUS!!” (1189 p.16). Longinus is on-page a spear, exactly as the paragraph says. The already-applied patch from “House of Rimoshifu” to “the Rimoshifu family” is the correct VIZ wording.
• Trimmed: the VIZ page captions only the family, never the man. “Killingham himself steps into direct combat” is therefore reader-carried inference, not a 1189 on-page naming. The note already flags this; recording it here so the leg is not re-hardened by a later pass.
• Not load-bearing either way: one of the five fan-invented weapon glosses struck in this sweep was “Spear of Holy Life” for Longinus. This note never used that gloss, so nothing here rests on it.

Refuter sweep re-run across Ch. 1188–Ch. 1192: no new firing. Killingham appears in the window only as the un-captioned Longinus wielder at 1189; the strings sleeptid, ZaZa, nightmare and Kirin appear nowhere in 1188–1192. Refuter #1 (power is Gunko’s/Sommers’s/shared) did not fire — no chapter reassigns authorship. Refuter #2 (not a Devil Fruit) did not fire. Refuter #3 (beaten by force, not catharsis) remains partially fired from the earlier window, unchanged by the corrections.

The ceiling logic from 2026-08-06 stands untouched: the prediction is a conjunction and its catharsis conjunct is falsified, so it is locked at partially-confirmed regardless of what the corrected 1188/1189 text says. Nothing in the VIZ re-read touches the marquee identification (settled Ch. 1143/Ch. 1172) or the Nika-as-target tell.

What would refute this

• Not Killingham’s. “Good job, Killingham” is misdirection — the power is Gunko’s or Sommers’s, or a shared Holy-Knight ability.
• Not a Devil Fruit. Robin’s “quickest answer is a Devil Fruit” is a wrong guess; the manifestation is a Holy-Knight mystical rite, a drug, or a gas — no fruit involved.
• Beaten by force, not catharsis. The demons fall to external power (the giants, Loki, Luffy’s Haki), not to victims confronting their fears — the @1151 “personal demons” beat is flavour, not the mechanism.

Calibration note

Filed 0.55 — four converging techniques (≈0.7 on the table) heavily discounted: this is a mechanic-identification prediction with several live alternatives (whose fruit, fruit-or-not, how it breaks), and mechanic calls are soft. Placed deliberately at the bottom of the under-exercised 0.5–0.7 band — a miss here is information. Not a universal-quantifier or canon-inversion claim.
