Golden Lion, “the pirate that could fly,” is named as the only prisoner ever to escape Impel Down — an escape 20 years ago, out of hundreds of thousands of inmates (Ch. 530 pp. 5-6). Cited by the Navy as the lone precedent for the prison’s reputation being damaged — and even he only broke out; no one had ever broken in until Luffy. Not shown on-page.
