Ida's Bar
Profile
A bar on Elbaf, run by the giant Ida. Setting of the young-Loki childhood flashback: after his boat capsizes and he nearly drowns, he is brought here, where Ida cares for him and wants to be a surrogate mother — a role Loki cruelly rebuffs (“You just wanna pretend to be my mom… you just want all the money!!”).
Etymology
Named for its owner, the giant Ida (“Ida” ← an Old Norse female name, fitting Elbaf’s Norse overlay; also Mount Ida of Greek myth).
Key chapters
- Ch. 1156 — first appearance: the near-drowned young Loki is brought to Ida’s Bar; the child Mato defends Ida against Loki’s cruelty (pp. 12–13).
- Ch. 1157 — era of Rocks (~42 years ago): King King Harald drinks here with Rocks and Garp and argues over whether Elbaf should join the World Government (pp. 9–10). One of the two “legendary bars” giving the chapter its title (with Shakky’s Rip-off Bar).
