Kong — the World Government’s military Commander-in-Chief, the post that sits above the Navy’s Fleet Admiral. - Etymology: コング (Kongu) = “Kong.” Per the One Piece Wiki, derives from King Kong (the giant ape) and/or Sun Wukong (孫悟空 / Son Gokū, the Monkey King of Journey to the West) — both apex simian figures, apt for the Navy’s topmost office. The ape/monkey reading rhymes with the Monkey family; Kong carries the same left-cheek scar as Garp, Dragon, and Luffy (0594 p.4-5), the on-page detail behind the unconfirmed “Monkey D.
