Law's Alliance Plan Targets A Yonko Via The Punk Hazard Key

Ch. 815 — Zou (the target restated on the island)
Law restates the alliance’s target on Zou — the Emperor Kaido — “I’m going to get him ” (p. 13), and reminds the crews it is only a matter of time before Kaido invades Zou. (Additive evidence; seed_chapters += 0815; leave status: pending — the Kaido confrontation is forward of this window.)
Ch. 724 — p. 19 (the plan is finally spoken aloud)
Law states the alliance was only a lever to shut the SMILE factory: “…once you’ve lost your Smile … Kaido will finish the job for me.” The mechanism (cut SMILE → Kaido turns on Doflamingo ) is now on-page, but the Kaido takedown itself stays forward. Status held pending .
Law tells Luffy this island “harbors a crucial key powerful enough… to throw the New World into disarray ,” and pitches: “Together, you and I might be able to pull it off… to take down one of the Four Emperors!! I have a plan… ” An explicit in-panel dialogue tell that Caesar ’s hidden operation is strategic leverage against a Yonko, and the loaded gun that drives the rest of the saga. Law’s plan advances one concrete step — capture Caesar Clown to create confusion (“It’s not money we want, but confusion… once Caesar’s been caught, things will start moving very fast”) — while the ultimate prize stays deliberately withheld (“There’s no use discussing the rest before we’ve successfully pulled it off”). The chekhov-explicit agenda tightens without naming the Emperor.
Law executes the core of his concealed plan: he destroys the S.A.D. Manufacturing Room (Structure D, p. 8) and cuts down Caesar ’s enforcer Vergo (pp. 9–10). The S.A.D. is shown to be the on-page “key” his alliance targets, though its function and the Yonko’s identity remain hidden. Ch. 697 — pp. 2–3, 17 (the alliance is formalized; the “key” named SMILE)
The alliance is formalized — Luffy : “I’m in!” — and aimed at Kaido SMILE Caesar produces it, Doflamingo brokers it, Kaido buys it; cutting it is the leverage (p. 17). Ch. 699 — pp. 16–19 (the alliance goes public; the leverage proven)
The plan’s first lever lands: Doflamingo abandons his Warlord seat and the Dressrosa throne to recover Caesar (the SMILE /S.A.D. key), proving how badly the Yonko supply chain needs him — Law : “Now do you see just how big this deal of ours was?” (p. 19). Why this matters
A textbook chekhov-explicit tell: a character states the plan and the prize out loud — “a crucial key” + “take down one of the Four Emperors” — without yet naming either. Oda front-loads the arc’s central engine through dialogue, leaving the specifics (the SAD/SMILE “key,” the targeted Emperor) as the deferred payoff.
