  • Caesar Clown deliberately sacrifices his own remaining lab guards: he orders the walls of Structure A blasted open and the lone exit gate sealed to flood the building with 'Land of the Dead' and trap everyone — heroes and his own soldiers alike — to give his underworld brokers 'a proper showing' of the weapon's totality
  • Caesar's lab geography is mapped on-screen: the 'Third Lab Complex (Caesar's Lab)' — Structures A, B, C, D, R plus the front entrance — connected by a single corridor whose closing gate is the only escape off the building
  • Brownbeard has turned against Caesar — alive (despite the off-page 'eliminated' report) and carrying the fleeing Straw Hats and G-5 marines toward the gate; the marines note 'Did he turn traitor on the master?'
  • Kin'emon, disguised as Vergo (the 'Captain Copycat'), intervenes to herd the G-5 to the gate, telling them 'this is no time to fight' — first on-page use of his appearance-copying ability as an ally
  • Vergo declares he will personally hunt down Law and Smoker rather than trust Caesar's gas-trap ('I can't leave this entirely in your hands')
  • Robin is on the scene acting on Luffy's request ('Luffy asked me to take care of something')
  • Caesar's men fire a calibrated cannon to blast open the outer wall of Structure A, flooding the base with killer gas; many G-5 sailors are left behind to die and Captain Tashigi is carried to safety against her will, devastated

Summary

As “Land of the Dead” smothers Punk Hazard, Caesar gloats to his hidden underworld brokers that no place is left for life — yet his monitors show no corpses at the front entrance, proof his prisoners escaped the cage. Rather than let them flee through the lab, Caesar coldly orders the walls of Structure A blasted open and the single connecting gate sealed, flooding the building with gas and sacrificing his own remaining guards for the sake of “a proper showing.” Vergo declares he won’t trust the trap and will hunt Law and Smoker personally. In the corridors, Luffy smashes through a centaur guard (Lin the Machete); Smoker and Law read the closing-gate alarm; the G-5 marines abandon their fight with the Straw Hats to race for the same exit. A figure who looks like Vergo — actually Kin’emon disguised, the “Captain Copycat” — herds the marines onward, while a betrayed-and-still-alive Brownbeard carries the wounded toward the gate and Robin works a job Luffy asked of her. Caesar’s gunners blast the outer wall, the killer gas pours in, and the escapees barely squeeze through the closing gate — but many G-5 sailors are left behind. Carried to safety against her will, Captain Tashigi screams to go back for her trapped men as Caesar, in gas form, laughs that they will “all be DEAD in the end.”
