Bepo · alive · Heart Pirates · Law’s polar-bear navigator

Profile

A talking polar bear, crewmate of the Heart Pirates under Trafalgar Law. First shown unnamed (“a bear” accompanying Law) Ch. 503; named on-page Ch. 505 (pp. 13-14). His species is left unstated on-page in-window.

Arc-by-arc updates

Winner Island — Sulong without a moon (Ch. 1081)

  • Defends the wounded Law against the Blackbeard Pirates and transforms into Sulong despite there being no full moon (“SULONG / HOW CAN THAT BE?! THE MOON’S NOT OUT!!”, p. 18) — an apparent break from the established Mink moonlight-triggered Sulong rule. Begs Law not to die as the Polar Tang is sunk and the crew is declared defeated (“We made it together as a team!”, p. 19). See A Mink Can Reach Sulong Without The Full Moon.

Post-Wano — Winner Island (Ch. 1064)

Wano Country (Ch. 951)

  • Among the three freed Heart Pirates who escaped the prison and reach Nami/Shinobu’s group north of Ebisu Town, carrying Yasuie’s re-keyed code (p.7). His Wano wanted likeness is posted as “Polar Bear” (p.6, 11).

Wano — Udon (Ch. 945)

Sabaody Archipelago — named (Ch. 505) — first named

  • Named on-page as Law’s polar-bear crewmate (“Bepo!” / “Aye aye, Captain!”); a talking bear who tears through marines and leads the Heart Pirates’ withdrawal (pp. 13-14).

Sabaody Archipelago — the Kuma encounter (Ch. 506)

  • Flees the Marine assault with the Heart Pirates during the Bartholomew Kuma encounter; a crewmate urges “Hurry up, Bepo!!” (pp. 2-3). Onlookers marvel “That bear is so quick!!” and “How can a bear be talking?!” — his species is left unexplained on-page.

Sabaody — leaves Sabaody with the Heart Pirates (Ch. 565)

  • Ordered by Law to ready the Heart Pirates’ ship to leave Sabaody during the Summit War broadcast chaos (p. 3).

Marineford (Ch. 578)

  • Aboard Law’s submarine when it surfaces at Marineford to extract the dying Luffy (pp. 18-19).

Post-War — Rocky Bay camp (Ch. 582)

  • Camped with the Heart Pirates at Amazon Lily’s Rocky Bay; marvels at the all-women island and apologizes (“Sorry”) out of habit (p. 8).

Post-War — Calm Belt coast (Ch. 591)

  • With the Heart Pirates at Amazon Lily’s coast when Rayleigh surfaces; banters as the sub submerges (“I wish they were bears!”) (pp. 2–6).

Zou (Ch. 805) — confirmed a mink

  • Confirmed a mink — a polar bear of Zou (p. 6, “that talking polar bear is a mink too?!”); his Heart Pirates title is “Navigator (Assistant Guardian)” (p. 14). race: mink SET (now on-page); affiliation += Minks.
  • From Zou; left young. Law: Bepo “left this place at a young age,” doesn’t remember much of the island, “this is his hometown,” and “he’s been with me for ten years — he can be trusted” (p. 7). Law carries Bepo’s Vivre Card to reach the crew (p. 6). See Bepo.
  • Reunites with the alliance among the Heart Pirates; “I miss the captain so much!” (p. 14).

Zou (Ch. 806) — mentioned, not shown

  • Mentioned (not shown): “Bepo was born here, but he’s a pirate!!” (p. 5) — confirms Bepo is native to the Whale Forest of Zou, the domain of the Cat Viper, reinforcing the mink-origin reveal from Ch. 805.

Zou (Ch. 807) — reunites with the Heart Pirates

  • Reunites with the Heart Pirates / Law on his home island, Zou (“Captain!!”, page 15); confirms Bepo is a Zou mink.

Zou (Ch. 810) — shown defending Zou in the siege flashback

  • Shown (in the minks’ siege flashback) as a mink native of Zou helping defend the island against Jack: addressed “Hey, Bepo!!” he declares “I might be a pirate, but this’ll always be my hometown!!!” (p. 4) — reinforcing the Ch. 805 mink-origin reveal.

Zou (Ch. 814) — mentioned; his group awaits atop the trees

Wano Country (Ch. 913) — the Heart Pirates are already in Wano

  • With the Heart Pirates atop a mountain in Wano, spots the Straw Hats and pushes to go to them (“You know I’m right! It’s the Straw Hats!!”); a crewmate warns “You’re gonna stick out if you do, Bepo!” (p. 17). First on-page Heart-Pirates sighting of the Wano arc.

Wano Country (Ch. 936) — reported captured (off-page)

  • The Heart Pirates (Bepo et al.) are reported captured by the enemy in Wano, to be used as bait to lure out captain Law (p. 15). Reported, not shown on-page.

Wano Country (Ch. 938) — referenced (not shown)

  • Referenced (not shown): named among the captured Heart Pirates whom the scabbards suspect of leaking the operation’s secrets; Law insists “Bepo and the others would die before they talk” (pp. 7–8).

SBS reveals

Notes

  • race: mink SET Ch. 805 — the Mink-tribe classification is now ON-PAGE (p. 6, “that talking polar bear is a mink too?!”); a polar-bear mink native to Zou. (Was held blank through ≤0591 as a forward reveal; the Zou arc pays it off.) 13-14) and lists him in mentions; the natural forward-synthesis mint chapter is therefore 0505. A 0506 MERGE must NOT regress it.
