Every on-page Laugh-Tale-mechanism cite points to route-knowledge, not physiology: the gate is the four Road Poneglyphs, and Blackbeard’s crew frames a withheld stone as barring “any pirate,” never fruit-users specifically. Roger’s own crew, on reaching the island, simply “learned the entire truth of the world” — no depiction of anyone sickened or barred. Meanwhile fruit-user Emperors are staged as legitimate contenders, and the protagonist himself is a fruit-user bound for the endgame island at the frontier. The fruit-light Roger roster is best explained by ordinary crew selection on a sample of one, not by an island filter.
