Summary
Aboard the Thousand Sunny, the Whole Cake Island escape crew (Luffy, Sanji, Nami, Chopper, Brook, Carrot) read the morning newspaper. Nami debuts her upgraded Clima-Tact — the “Sorcery Climate Baton,” a fusion of atmospheric science and Usopp’s craftsmanship now housing the defected homie Zeus — while Sanji refuses to rely on the Germa raid suit (“Science is the power of mankind itself!!”). The bounties drop: Sanji 330M (poster humiliatingly printed “Vinsmoke Sanji”), Zoro 320M, and the World Economic Journal proclaims Luffy the “Fifth Emperor of the Sea,” crediting him with seven crews, 5,000+ followers, the brotherhood of Ace and revolutionary No. 2 Sabo, and command over the Sun, Fire Tank and Germa forces. Across the world the news lands: on Fish-Man Island the Neptune family departs for the Reverie and Shirahoshi resolves to attend; royal ships of Dressrosa, Prodence and Lulucia sail to the Holy Land and are ambushed by pirates. A young Navy HQ Captain, Koby, intercepts a submarine torpedo and rescues Princess Comane of Lulucia, revealing prodigious Observation Haki and a starstruck admiration for the “enemy” Luffy; his comrade Helmeppo is now a Lt. Commander. Emperors react to Luffy’s rise — Kaido (“the guy who screwed up my deal”), Blackbeard (“you’re not ready for that yet, Straw Hat!!”) and a furious Big Mom vowing revenge. Finally Brook helps Luffy re-count the zeros on his own poster: his bounty is not 150 million but 1.5 BILLION berries.
New reveals
- The World Economic Journal (Morgans) brands Luffy the “Fifth Emperor of the Sea” (pp. 1, 8) — the press elevates him alongside the Yonko.
- Luffy’s bounty: 1,500,000,000 (1.5 billion) — revealed via Luffy’s running gag of miscounting it as “150 million” before Brook helps recount (pp. 5, 16–17).
- Sanji’s bounty: 330,000,000, the poster printed “Vinsmoke Sanji” — devastating Sanji; raised “because of Germa’s infamy” (pp. 4–5).
- Zoro’s bounty: 320,000,000 (p. 5; Zoro not aboard — read off the new poster set).
- Zeus now lives inside Nami’s upgraded Clima-Tact, the “Sorcery Climate Baton,” gloating about being “her servant” and never leaving contact with Nami’s body (pp. 2–3).
- Sanji keeps but refuses to depend on the Germa raid suit (the “3”-labeled device Niji slipped him); Luffy can’t get it to transform (pp. 2–4).
- Koby is now a Navy HQ Captain; Helmeppo a Navy HQ Lt. Commander (pp. 12–13).
- Koby is the celebrated hero of the Rocky Port Incident (“the hero who saved civilian lives,” p. 13) and shows formidable Observation Haki (Helmeppo: “I never sensed a thing, Koby!!”).
- The Marine HQ is named “New Marineford” (p. 14); Fleet Admiral Sakazuki receives the report (p. 8).
- The Reverie is imminent: monarchs of Dressrosa (with Princess Viola/Violet), Prodence, Lulucia (Princess Comane) and Fish-Man Island (Neptune family + Shirahoshi) sail to the Holy Land (pp. 6–9).
- Per the article, Luffy already commands seven pirate crews / 5,000+ followers (the Grand Fleet rumor) (p. 7).
