“The Corrupt King” · alive · Blackbeard Pirates recruit · ex-Impel Down Level 6 prisoner · debuts at Marineford (Ch. 576)
Profile
One of the four erased Level 6 prisoners of Impel Down who join the Blackbeard Pirates at Marineford. Caption-debuts in Ch. 576 p. 3 as “Avalo Pizarro, the Corrupt King!!” — “I haven’t tasted freedom in a while.” A death-row inmate whose existence “has been erased” by the World Government for the barbarity of his crimes. Pays off Impel Down Level 6 Holds Erased World-Shaking Prisoners.
Devil Fruit revealed: his Isle-Isle Fruit (Isle-Isle Fruit) is named on-caption Ch. 1080 and fully demonstrated Ch. 1087 — he reshapes the Fullalead landmass into a giant crushing hand (pp. 13-15).
Etymology
Surname Pizarro → the Pizarro brothers / Francisco Pizarro, Spanish conquistadors of the Inca Empire — the wider Blackbeard-crew “explorer/conquistador” naming register (cf. Vasco Shot, Catalina Devon). Given name Avalo likely from the House of Ávalos (d’Avalos) condottieri family and/or Spanish “avaro” (“miser/greedy”), which locks to the epithet 悪政王 (Akusei-Ō, “Corrupt King”). Confidence high.
Arc-by-arc updates
Elbaf (voyage) — island-form dockmaster at Fullalead (Ch. 1126)
- In island form (Isle-Isle Fruit), berated by Blackbeard for the state of Fullalead; complains “I’m injured, ya know” yet hauls Catarina Devon’s returning ship out of the sea with a giant hand, captive and all (pp. 10-15).
Egghead / Final Saga — island-monster crushed at Fullalead (Ch. 1088)
- His Isle-Isle Fruit island-monster — a colossal skull-shaped landmass with grasping arms big enough to crush a battleship (“a giant hand coming out of the island!!!”, pp. 5-6) — corners Garp’s rescue squad. (The fruit is named on-caption @1080/@1087; @1088 re-shows the island-class Paramecia in action.)
- Tanks Garp’s “Galaxy Divide” and a Garp punch, recovers (“That’s not the end of me, Garp!!!”, p. 12); his giant arm is ultimately split by Koby’s “Impact” punch (“Master Pizarro!!”, p. 15). See Koby Abducted by the Blackbeard Pirates (RESOLVED @1088).
Egghead / Final Saga — Isle-Isle Fruit demonstrated at Fullalead (Ch. 1087)
- Devil Fruit fully demonstrated: the Isle-Isle Fruit (Isle-Isle Fruit) — he manipulates the Fullalead landmass itself, reshaping the island into a colossal hand to crush the escaping Marine ship: “Allow me to demownstrate the power of the Isle-Isle Fruit!!” (pp. 13-15). Captioned Fourth Ship Captain of the Blackbeard Pirates. “You’re on Pirate Island, where the stream of pirates never ends!!”
Egghead-era — Fullalead breakout (Ch. 1080)
- SHOWN directing the recapture of Koby (“don’t kill Koby!!”); his island-body IS the talking landmass (“Why is the rock talking?!”, p. 3). Caption: “Avalo Pizarro, the Corrupt King — Isle-Isle Fruit, Island-Man” (p. 4) — first on-page naming of his fruit. See Isle-Isle Fruit.
Wano-era cutaway — Fullalead (Ch. 925)
- Captioned Fourth Ship Captain of the Blackbeard Pirates, “Corrupt King” (p. 5). Present as Moria’s zombies storm the port; the crew lets Moria through to draw out his shadow ability.
Post-War (Ch. 595)
- With the Blackbeard Pirates in the New World; angles for leadership: “Let me be the leader! Want me to take your place, Teech?” (p. 7).
Summit War / Marineford — debut as a Blackbeard recruit (Ch. 576) — first shown
- First on-page appearance. Arrives at Marineford among Blackbeard’s expanded crew — one of the four “erased” Level 6 escapees ridden in aboard the giant San Juan Wolf; caption “Avalo Pizarro, the Corrupt King!!” (p. 3). See Blackbeard Pirates.
Notes
