Summary
On Egghead’s Fabriophase, Luffy (Gear 5) trades blows with the awakened leopard-form Rob Lucci while the rampaging Seraphim wreak havoc. A Vegapunk-side voice explains that the Seraphim cannot be controlled while a certain high-authority individual is conscious (their “authority hierarchy”). Vegapunk expounds the science behind the Seraphim: only Zoan-type Devil Fruits can be artificially produced (improving on Caesar’s SMILE “aberrations”), and virtually any can be re-created with vast money and time; for Paramecia types he synthesized a special green blood that confers the power so long as the recipient carries the original user’s bloodline elements — the liquid running through the Seraphim’s arms — while Logia proved too difficult. A Seraphim is shown using Boa Hancock’s Love-Love petrification (“MELLOW!! LOVE-LOVE…”) and another delivers Kuma’s “URSA SHOCK”; an onlooker recognizes one Seraphim’s power as the Swim-Swim Fruit of Pink (Donquixote Pirates), whose original user is alive in Impel Down — proof the copy is artificial. The Seraphim are declared the strongest form of humanity, the reason the World Government scrapped the Seven Warlords. Luffy’s Gum-Gum “Dawn” Whip and Rocket overwhelm Lucci, who feels his mind “slipping away.” Sentomaru entrusts the unconscious Vegapunk to Luffy (“Punk’s in your hands now!!”) and the Straw Hat side flees aboard the Vacuum Rocket from Fabriophase to Labophase in 32 seconds, the Frontier Dome sealing behind them. Jewelry Bonney, present to demand Vegapunk restore her father (Kuma) to normal, wanders off into the lab. With the World Government having ordered CP-0 to kill its own greatest scientist, the Navy mobilizes every battleship to Egghead on learning the Straw Hats are sailing with Vegapunk.
New reveals
- The Seraphim are the “strongest form of humanity” — the highest echelon of science, next-generation Pacifista designed as weapons for the Navy and a threat to be feared; their existence is why the World Government scrapped the Seven Warlords system (pp. 5-8).
- Artificial Devil Fruits: only Zoan-type can be produced artificially; virtually all of that type — even special ones — can be re-created with vast money and time (awakening unconfirmed). This perfects what Caesar’s SMILE “aberrations” only approximated (p. 6).
- Green blood: for Paramecia types, Vegapunk synthesized a special blood that confers the power to others as long as they carry the original user’s bloodline elements; it runs through the Seraphim’s arms. Logia types proved too difficult (p. 7).
- A Seraphim wields the Swim-Swim Fruit (Sui Sui no Mi) of Pink; since the same fruit cannot exist twice and the original user is alive in Impel Down, the Seraphim’s copy must be artificial (p. 6).
- A Seraphim uses Hancock’s Love-Love petrification (p. 7); another delivers Kuma’s “Ursa Shock” (p. 8).
- Jewelry Bonney came to Egghead to demand Vegapunk restore her father — Kuma — to normal (p. 16).
- The World Government ordered CP-0 to kill Vegapunk (“Ice him!!”); losing the greatest brain in the world is framed as a huge loss to the government, and Luffy (an Emperor) arriving to help him escape is called “fate” (p. 15).
- Egghead’s layout: Fabriophase (the factory) and Labophase (the lab), joined by the Vacuum Rocket / Rocket Hyper Capsule (~32-second transit); the Frontier Dome locks the island down — “Nothing escapes this island… not even a single ant!!” (pp. 13-17).

Notable panels
- Page 1 — Title splash. Banner carries the cover serial “Germa 66’s Ahh… An Emotionless Excursion, Vol. 27: ‘Promising scientists brought together for the sake of mankind and the world’” — a science-collective tableau (scientist silhouettes) that thematically rhymes with Vegapunk’s MADS-era origins and the Egghead chapter beneath it.
- Page 3 — Gear-5 Luffy: “DAWN… GUM-GUM… WHIP!!!” vs Lucci.
- Page 7 — Seraphim Hancock-model petrifies with “MELLOW!! LOVE-LOVE…”; reveal of Vegapunk’s green blood.
- Page 8 — Full-tier splash: “They are the STRONGEST FORM OF HUMANITY!!!” over the Seraphim.
- Page 11 — “GUM-GUM… DAWN… ROCKET!!!” launches Lucci.

Open questions raised
- Who holds the “authority hierarchy” position that keeps the Seraphim uncontrollable while conscious (p. 2)?
- Will Vegapunk’s Logia synthesis ever be solved (p. 7)?
- Can the artificial Zoan fruits awaken? Vegapunk hasn’t confirmed it (p. 6).
- Why does the World Government want its greatest scientist dead (p. 15)?
- What does the Government side mean by “events won’t play out like he’d imagined,” and who is “he” (p. 17)?
