Profile

A Paramecia that turns Capone Bege into a living fortress (“I’m a Castle-Man”): he can house an entire armed crew, vehicles, and a fortified banquet hall inside his own body, disgorging or absorbing people and objects at will (Ch. 812 pp. 11-16). The power was first shown — unnamed — at Sabaody Archipelago (Ch. 508, Grove 27, where Bege overran a Marine fort by pouring an army out of his body); named on-page Ch. 812 (p. 13).

Big Father / Full-Scale Rook“the Rook castles up” — full-scale castle-fortress form. “Big Father” is a double pun: a direct counterpart to the Emperor “Big Mom” (Big Mom, whom the castle shelters the alliance against), and an echo of The Godfather — Bege’s mafia-don gimmick (his men hail him “Godfather”; surname ← Al Capone, SBS Vol. 52). The fortress makes the Ch. 869 chapter title “Castling” literal (the king tucked behind the Rook).Ch. 868Capone Bege

Power limits & weaknesses

  • Standard Devil-Fruit sea/Sea-Prism weaknesses apply (the user is still a swimmer-disabled fruit eater).
  • Life-link / destructibility (Ch. 869 p. 18): the castle is Bege’s body — “If the castle gets destroyed, I die—which means the castle disappears… and you all get tossed out there with the monsters!!! This castle is ME!! It’s hardy, but it ain’t invincible!!” The fortress is durable but not invincible, and everyone sheltering inside is ejected the moment it is destroyed. See Bege’s Big Father Is Life-Bound And Destructible.

Lore & theories

The body-fortress lets Bege function as a mobile stronghold for his Firetank Pirates — the army (and a Gothic banquet hall) emerges from inside him. Whether the fortress is purely defensive or a scalable mobile castle is an open question raised @0812.

At Ch. 868 (pp. 16-17) Bege manifests the body-castle at fortress scale“Full-Scale Rook!! The Big Father!!” — large enough to take the allied Straw-Hat/Vinsmoke forces inside him as a mobile keep during the wedding-coup retreat, answering the @0812 scalability question in the affirmative. (Not “awakening” language on-page — a scaled-up base-power technique.) Cross-link Nature of Devil Fruits.

At Ch. 869 the Big Father shelters the alliance through the breakout (pp. 2-4) but is besieged and immobilized — its cannons mochi-jammed by Katakuri and its limbs candy-pinned by Perospero — at which point Bege reveals (p. 18) the castle’s life-link vulnerability (see Power limits above), foregrounding the fortress’s destructibility as the stake the escape now turns on.

At Ch. 871 (pp. 2-4) the Big Father is used as a battering ramBege’s fortress form smashes through Perospero’s Candy Wall to open the alliance’s escape route over the chateau wall.
