Summary

A flashback “a few hours ago in the Forest of the Sea” lays out Jinbei’s plan to retake Conchcorde Plaza: he and Megalo will let themselves be captured, Luffy (stowed inside Megalo’s stomach) will burst out and “save” the captured King Neptune in full view of the citizens, while Robin steals the Celestial Dragon’s signed document and the keys to the King’s shackles from the enemy — the whole point being to make the people see a human pirate and the fish-men working together. Jinbei reframes Luffy’s brawler instinct into heroism with a meat parable (“pirates eat the meat; heroes give the meat away”) and promises to feed Luffy if he plays the hero. In the present, the plan works: the freed King is cheered, the crowd hails Straw Hat Luffy, and Shirahoshi — who has quietly carried the secret of Otohime’s death for years — hands over the document her mother left behind. Hody Jones, realizing Jinbei played him, denounces Jinbei as a human-loving traitor and coward “just like Neptune,” invoking Fisher Tiger and Arlong as brethren slain by humans. Hody then proclaims his true ambition: to become the “true Pirate King,” to murder all the world’s Kings at Marijoa during this year’s Reverie, birth “the legend of the undersea kingdom,” and enslave humanity. He sics his 100,000-strong horde on the crew of ten — and Luffy answers by unleashing Conqueror’s Haki, flattening 50,000 of them at once. Zoro and Sanji name it “Haki”; an ally names it “the color of the Supreme King.” Luffy tells Hody there is room in this world for only one King of Pirates, while Hody swells his arm with Energy Steroids and charges.
