Summary
The battle on the approach to Conchcorde Plaza continues: the ten fighters on the Straw-Hat side (the nine Straw Hats plus Jinbe) carve through the New Fish-Man Pirates’ 100,000-strong army, which has split its numbers to defend the captured island and stop the crew from reaching Princess Shirahoshi. Jinbe deflects an energy-steroid-enhanced fish-man captain’s water shot, and the soldiers name him the personification of Queen Otohime’s coexistence ideal — and recall his “over 400 million” post-resignation bounty as the first fish-man Warlord. Brook turns an artillery squad into a party with his music before cutting them down; Zoro fells the Iron Shell Unit with Black Rope Dragon Twister; Sanji, attacked by Captain Harisenbon’s Sea Urchin Spike Unit, flashes back to being chased by the okama and runs Sky Walk straight up into the air; Robin (Gigantesco Mano), Franky (Black Rhino FR-U4, Soldier Dock Channel 4), and Chopper (Brachio Tank 5, Channel 5, with Nami in the cockpit) deploy the Sunny’s new dock vehicles. With the ten of them out-fighting 100,000, the fish-men summon the Kraken — but it is Surume, whom Luffy befriended on the descent, and the monster turns on its would-be masters to protect its friend.
New reveals
- Jinbe’s post-Warlord bounty is “over 400 million” berries, set after he resigned the Seven Warlords — and he is named the first fish-man to become one of the Seven Warlords (p. 4).
- Sanji’s Sky Walk origin: in flashback he “ran away from those hideous monsters” (the okama of Momoiro Island/Kamabakka), was cornered with nowhere left to run, and finally ran straight up into the sky — forging the air-walking technique (pp. 10-11). A bystander notes it’s “just like CP9’s” Geppo (p. 11).
- Jinbe = the personification of Otohime’s ideal: the New Fish-Man Pirates revile him as “the worst possible future, one in which fish-men live in peace with humans” (p. 3).
- The Thousand Sunny’s post-timeskip Soldier Dock upgrades: Channel 4 — Black Rhino FR-U4 (a rhino motorcycle, Franky) and Channel 5 — Brachio Tank 5 (a dinosaur tank, Chopper, “Commander Chopper,” with Nami in the cockpit) (pp. 13-16). Channel 4 was previously empty/“reserved for future weapons.”
- Surume the Kraken is the fish-men’s “slave” — they claim they “brought it from the North Pole just for this” — but it recognizes Luffy as its friend and turns on them (pp. 18-19).

Open questions raised
- Will reaching Conchcorde Plaza (“the plaza! now!!”) bring the crew face-to-face with Hody Jones and the captured King Neptune?
- Can ten fighters actually finish 100,000, or does Hody have a deeper card (Noah, the energy steroids’ full cost)?
