Summary
At the treasure repository behind the tower of the Skull Dome, a figure dressed as Kozuki Oden claims he “came to the future with the help of Toki’s power” and calls the wounded Red Scabbards to battle. They almost believe it — until Ashura Doji insists no one can return to the past (Toki’s own law) and strikes the impostor: it bleeds no blood. The “Oden” is a remote-controlled Kanjuro painting; Kanjuro’s voice gloats that his “greatest final act” is to become Kozuki, bring the clan down, then die — and lets slip that he knows Momonosuke is with a kunoichi (Shinobu). As the Scabbards resolve to warn her, the All-Star Jack crashes in, wounded from breaking through the minks; Ashura Doji volunteers to keep Jack occupied so Raizo, Nekomamushi and the others can go protect Momonosuke. Elsewhere a fire breaks out in the castle: Orochi — alive after Kaido’s beheading — reappears in serpent form, snarling that Kaido “betrayed” him, and threatens to burn everyone alive “up here in the sky.” In a quiet room Momonosuke and Shinobu take stock; Momo wishes he could turn into a monster like his father and senses Luffy is greatly weakened yet still alive. On the rooftop, Luffy, Zoro, Law and Kid hammer at Kaido and Big Mom to little visible effect, and decide their only chance is to “peel” the two Emperors apart.
New reveals
- The fake Oden is a Kanjuro painting, remote-controlled. Kanjuro’s drawing-to-life power produces a flawless impostor “Oden” the Scabbards almost embrace; Ashura’s strike proves it sheds no blood, and Kanjuro confirms “controlling it remotely saps so much strength” — his real body is elsewhere (p. 5–7).
- Orochi survived. The Shogun, cut down by Kaido on the Live Floor, is unmistakably alive — recognized by a Beasts pirate (“OH!! OROCH—”), in serpent form, setting Onigashima ablaze and vowing to “slaughter every last one of you” (p. 13).
- Ashura Doji’s stand. Rather than settle “the scores of the past,” Ashura chooses to keep Jack occupied so the rest can leave and guard Momonosuke (p. 12).
- Momo’s read on Luffy. Momonosuke senses Luffy is “greatly weakened” but “somehow he’s still fine,” startling Shinobu that he can know this (p. 14).
