The seed
At Ch. 1144 p. 6, the giant child Collun stakes his claim to fight on being “the son of Gaban!!”; an elder retorts “Exactly! You’re NOT Gaban!!” — establishing that Collun’s father is (or is claimed by him to be) a warrior named Gaban. “Gaban” is a loaded name in the series: Scopper Gaban was a top officer of the Roger Pirates. Whether Collun’s father is that Gaban, a namesake giant, or simply an idolized local hero is (in-isolation at this seed) left open. Why it matters: if the two Gabans connect, it ties Elbaf’s giants to Roger’s crew.
The payoff
(Re-checked through Ch. 1189 — still pending. In the frontier chapters Collun appears only as one of the abducted/flood-swept children (his mother Ripley cries “COLLUUUN!!!” @1187); no chapter after 1173 makes an on-page confirmation of Collun as Scopper Gaban’s son.)
Why this matters
A Chekhov name-drop: a giant child insists he is “the son of Gaban,” planting the loaded Roger-Pirates name in an Elbaf-child’s mouth. Oda routinely seeds a name in dialogue before its weight lands. Record only the on-page name-drop; the Gaban–Roger–Elbaf ties are the forward payoff.
