The on-page word is uniformly “companion of Joyboy” (Ch. 1040); Zunisha’s recognition of the drums of liberation (Ch. 1043) and personal grief at Joy Boy’s return (Ch. 1046) establish acquaintance, and Vegapunk’s broadcast confirms Joy Boy commanded a faction (Ch. 1114) — leaving room for Zunisha to have belonged to it. The low confidence reflects the honest headwinds: the penal-subordinate framing (Zunisha “acts solely on orders,” must beg permission to defend itself, Ch. 821) reads against peer crewmate standing, and Vegapunk’s full faction broadcast named no elephant among Joy Boy’s allies despite the ideal opportunity.

Correction to the 2026-07-25 entry’s flag, which sharpens its own conclusion. That entry said 1189 “does enumerate a rival founding-era roster in full (the 19 kings who ringed the Empty Throne with their oath-swords).” The official VIZ pages show that was a fan-scanlation over-read on two counts:

1. What is roll-called at p.15 is weapons, not kings — “LONGINUS! STIGMA! MURAMASA!!” / “BLADE OF CHAOS, TOHU! VOHU! NEMESIS!” — and only six of the nineteen are named. Two more families are attached at p.16 (Gram → Shepherd, Longinus → Rimoshifu). The chapter’s own open questions ask “Who wields each of the 19 weapons, and which family holds which?”
2. The kings themselves are only counted, never named: “EIGHT HUNDRED YEARS AGO… THE 19 KINGS WHO CREATED THIS WORLD… …TOOK AN OATH OF EQUALITY, THRUSTING THEIR WEAPONS INTO THE FLOOR AROUND THE EMPTY THRONE!!!”

So there is no full roster of anything in 1189. The July entry’s conclusion — that this does not fire the “roster enumerated with no elephant among it” refuter — was right, and is now right for a second, stronger reason: not only is it the wrong side of the war, it is not an enumeration at all. The refuter requires a complete listing of Joy Boy’s crew or allied faction, and the window contains no such listing for either side.

One adjacent correction worth carrying, since it will tempt a future pass: 1189’s “The Great One used OMEN to bring them back and grant them to us!!” (p.15) refers to the weapons, not to the Holy Knights. The fan-scanlation read it as “revived us,” implying the Knights are resurrected founders. They are not. Any future attempt to build an 800-year-survivor roster out of that line — the shape of thing that could bear on a Zunisha faction-membership reveal — is building on a retracted translation.
