Summary
On the island of women in the Calm Belt, a recovered Luffy resolves to find his crew and grow stronger than the foes who scattered them, comically trying to row a homemade raft across the monster-infested sea before the Kuja stop him. The Kuja explain the geography: Amazon Lily lies in the Calm Belt amid the giant Neptunians’ spawning ground, and only the Snake Princess’s ship — drawn by poisonous Yuda sea-snakes — can safely cross. Offshore, Vice Admiral Momonga’s Marine fleet (entering via sea-prism-stone hulls under a treaty) waits to deliver the World Government’s mandatory summons to all Seven Warlords: with Portgas D. Ace’s public execution now set for Marineford in one week, every Warlord must report or lose the title. Boa Hancock — Empress of Amazon Lily, captain of the Kuja Pirates, one of the Seven Warlords — finally appears in person with her sisters Sandersonia and Marigold, the Gorgon Sisters. She flatly refuses the summons, demonstrating her petrifying “Love-Love Mellow” charm by turning Momonga’s lust-struck soldiers to stone; Momonga survives only by stabbing his own leg to clear his mind of desire. She departs with a Warlord’s impunity, and Momonga sets a two-day ultimatum before the treaties are void.
