Summary
In the aftermath of Kuma scattering the Straw Hats, Sabaody settles uneasily: Duval’s Rosy Life Riders guard the Thousand Sunny until the coating craftsman arrives, the World Nobles at the Auction House scream for their escaped slaves to be recaptured and tortured, and at Shakky’s Rip-off Bar Camie frets while Shakky delivers an ominous prophecy that “a big wave like no one’s ever seen before” is coming. Meanwhile Luffy — launched by Bartholomew Kuma’s paw — flies through the air for a full day and night, sleeping in mid-flight, and crash-lands deep in a jungle, leaving a giant bear paw print. Alone, hungry, and forced to navigate by the crew’s Vivre Cards, he stumbles through the wilds, eats an assortment of bizarre island mushrooms (laughing mushrooms, then the life-draining Body Parasite Mushrooms), and collapses covered head-to-toe in fungus. A band of women warriors finds him, mistakes the mushroom-encrusted body for one of their own, and rushes “her” back to their village to be treated. As they wash and de-fungus the patient, they discover the impossible: the patient is a man. This is Amazon Lily, the island of the Kuja — a tribe of women warriors where men are absolutely forbidden and a man who sets foot ashore forfeits his life.
