Summary

The morning-after fallout from Ch. 337 tips into the night of the Aqua Laguna flood. The Straw Hats huddle and reason through the Iceberg situation: Robin’s parting words to Chopper — “After today, we’ll never meet again… things will only get worse from here on out” — read as a warning that she’s about to do something that will make matters even worse. Zoro’s cold logic lands the crew on a grim possibility: if the would-be assassins want to finish the job, the worst thing they could do is actually kill Mayor Iceberg tonight, when the storm gives them cover and the murder can be pinned on the Straw Hats. They debate whether to believe Robin or doubt her (“Do we believe her? Do we doubt her?”) and decide that sitting and guessing is useless — the only way to know the truth is to find Robin and hear it from her. Luffy: “CATCH ROBIN!!” Nami notes the masked second attacker “could be anyone” (Iceberg confirmed one wore a mask — so not a Straw Hat), and that the World Government “has been trying to catch [Robin] for 20 years and they still haven’t.” With a “DOOM!!” they set off into the rising wind toward Galley-La HQ. Meanwhile, a heavily bandaged Usopp — beaten by the Franky Family — quietly scrapes together lumber, nails, hasps, tar, rope and tin from a closing shop, far short of what he needs, to repair the Going Merry himself; a gruff merchant gives him rice balls and tells him to take care as the town evacuates. Usopp talks to the ship (“It’ll be fine! Don’t you worry!! …that has flown in the sky… you’re a ship”), the waves swelling around him. At Blueno’s Bar on the shipbuilding island, Franky drinks himself into a rage and storms out to “go start wrecking stuff again,” leaving the barman Blueno and the old woman Kokoro (with a child and a cat) bemused. By sundown, Galley-La abandons the back streets (“too dangerous”) and forms a defensive ring on HQ and Iceberg’s bedroom; the foremen — including Paulie and Tilestone — sit guard, certain the criminals never left (“No one saw them get on the Sea Train”). Inside, a bedridden Iceberg keeps Robin’s wanted poster on his wall; pressed on why, he says only “It’s better if you don’t know,” and that Robin “…is a demon.” Above the HQ, the Straw Hats perch on the rooftops in the storm, sizing up the guard ring and waiting for the chaos that will let them in.

New reveals

• The crew’s deduction: the assassins will strike again tonight. Zoro lays out the worst case — if someone wanted to make the situation worse, “…there’s only one way to do it… to actually kill the mayor. This time.” The Aqua-Laguna storm gives cover, and a successful murder would let the real culprits “lay the crime on us” (pp. 3–4). This is the crew’s reasoned guess, not a confirmed plan.
• Robin’s warning reinterpreted. Her line to Chopper — “After today, we’ll never meet again. Things will only get worse from here on out” — is read as a sign she intends to do something that will worsen things (pp. 2–3). Sets the apparent-betrayal hook tighter.
• The masked second attacker. Nami: “The masked person could be anyone.” Iceberg said one attacker wore a mask (so not a Straw Hat), corroborating Sanji’s sighting of Robin walking with a masked figure (p. 5). Seeds the CP9-disguise reveal.
• Objective set: “CATCH ROBIN!!” Luffy’s call is to find Robin and learn the truth from her directly — not to fight or abandon her (pp. 5–6). The crew commits: “Let’s go.” → “DOOM!!” (p. 6).
• Robin’s 20-year WG bounty reaffirmed. “…the World Government has been trying to catch her for 20 years, and they still haven’t” (p. 6). Consistent with the Alabasta-era Smoker exposition.
• Usopp is secretly repairing the Going Merry alone. Heavily bandaged from the Franky Family beating, Usopp buys “all the lumber I can buy with this… also, tar and rope… and nails and hasps… and a little tin,” far short of what’s needed; a merchant gives him rice balls (pp. 7–9). He’s working on the Merry by himself as the town evacuates (pp. 10–11).
• Usopp talks to the ship. “It’ll be fine! Don’t you worry!! …that has flown in the sky… you’re a ship… Don’t you worry!!” (p. 11) — his bond with the Merry is foregrounded right before the storm.
• BLUENO named (first on-page). The shipbuilding island’s bar is “BLUENO’S BAR”; Franky storms out and a patron calls “Thanks for the drinks, Blueno!” (pp. 12–13). The genial, square-jawed barman is established as a fixture — later revealed CP9.
• KOKORO named (first on-page). “What just happened, Kokoro?” (p. 13) — the laughing old woman at Blueno’s Bar, present with a child and a cat (named Chimney and Gonbe in the chapter-end storyboard preview, p. 20).
• The Sea Train is named as the assumed escape route: “No one saw them get on the Sea Train” (p. 17).
• Galley-La fortifies HQ and Iceberg’s bedroom. At sundown Paulie orders the company off the back streets (“It’s impossible now! The back streets are too dangerous!”) and to “pull out” to HQ (pp. 14–15); the foremen ring Galley-La Headquarters (“Don’t let so much as a rat get past you!!”, p. 16) and sit guard outside Iceberg’s bedroom (p. 17).
• Five foremen guard the bedroom door. Paulie (cigar) and Tilestone are named/identifiable among five seated guards (p. 17); the other three silhouettes read as the remaining “strongest” foremen (consistent with Lucci, Kaku and a fifth — not named on-page here). (Inference on the unnamed three.)
• Iceberg keeps Robin’s wanted poster on his wall. Bedridden, he is asked “Why do you have Nico Robin’s wanted poster in your room?” and answers “It’s better if you don’t know” — then calls Robin “…a demon” (pp. 18). The poster reads NICO ROBIN — 79,000,000 berries.
