- Name meaning
- 闘魚 (Tōgyo) = literally 'fighting/combat fish' — the standard Japanese name for the betta / Siamese fighting fish (Betta splendens), famed for aggression. Oda renders them with bull heads + horns, folding them into Dressrosa's '闘-' combat-animal series (闘牛 fighting bull / 闘獅子 fighting lion) and the Spanish bull-arena 'Corrida' Colosseum motif.

Profile
A species of large, aggressive horned fish that have settled in the waters around Green Bit — “real nasty fish with big horns” capable of capsizing ships and even breaking down the long iron bridge between Dressrosa and Green Bit (Ch. 705 pp. 9–10). Their presence is the chief obstacle to the alliance’s planned Caesar hand-off at Green Bit.
Defining traits
- Ch. 705 pp. 9–10 — Horned, ship-capsizing aggression: packs of these fish ring the Green Bit channel; they can break down the iron bridge and capsize vessels, forcing the alliance to reconsider the Caesar drop-off route.
