Chapter 765: Minion, the Isle of Fate

Summary

The Corazon flashback continues, six months after Corazon spirited young Law away from the Donquixote Family. Over the Den Den Mushi, Doflamingo all but confirms he knows it is Corazon on the line, recalls that the two “jumped ship” half a year ago, and orders Corazon to bring Law back so that Corazon — his most trusted man — can eat the newly-located Op-Op Fruit “given the nature of its properties.” Privately Doflamingo voices suspicion that his own brother has been feeding the Navy intel, and privately Corazon understands the order means Doflamingo plans to sacrifice him for eternal life. Corazon has already chosen betrayal: he will steal the Op-Op Fruit, cure Law, and vanish. The chapter then reveals Corazon is Sengoku’s own undercover Marine — he reports to Navy HQ (Garp and young “Kuzan” present) using the code words “Cookies”/“Crackers,” and Sengoku lays a counter-trap to round up the whole Family at Swallow Island. The fruit is held by ex-naval-officer-turned-pirate Diez Barrels on Minion Island. Law, deteriorating fast, spits his hatred of the government that murdered Flevance and declares he is no navy man — which quietly relieves Corazon. Finally Corazon uses his sound-nullifying Devil Fruit to slip into the Barrels base, silently burn it down, and seize the Op-Op Fruit, fleeing under gunfire to bring it back for Law.
