Summary

A round-the-world check-in on four scattered Straw Hats, each reading the Marineford news and resolving to reach Luffy. On Gloom Island (Kuraigana), Zoro recovers from his wounds and trains against the Humandrills — weapon-wielding baboons that imitate humans — at the castle of Mihawk, where Perona has also washed up and is reading that “Lord Moria was killed in the war”; Mihawk dismisses the article as unbelievable. Zoro, learning what happened to Luffy, declares he is going out to sea at once. On the sky island Weatheria, Nami fakes tears, takes the scientist Haredas hostage, and escapes by balloon to reach the blue sea, certain Luffy needs her. On the winter “Future Land” Baldimore — revealed as Dr. Vegapunk’s childhood home, full of his centuries-ahead inventions — Franky, hunting an icebreaker ship to leave, accidentally hits the lab’s self-destruct button and obliterates it. And in Hungaria on Lazy Bones Island, Brook — hailed as the “Great Demon Lord” — frees the captives of the Longarm Bandits, then rushes off to sing for his hurting captain.
