- ヒューマンドリル Hyūmandoriru (VIZ 'Humandrills') is a portmanteau of English **human** + **mandrill** (Mandrillus sphinx, the large Old-World baboon) — the wiki glosses the creature literally as 'a type of mandrill.' The 'human' half encodes their defining trait: they imitate any human behaviour they witness (here, war and weapon-use), so a 'human-mandrill' is a baboon that has learned to be human. A '-drill' (Mandrillus leucophaeus) is itself the mandrill's smaller relative, so the name doubles as the real primate naming family.

Etymology
