- LIFE RETURN is named on-page as a Rob Lucci technique: facing a battered Luffy on the Bridge of Hesitation, Lucci declares 'LIFE RETURN RELEASE!!' / 'I'll crush you in an instant' (p. 9) — a CP9 body-control discipline (distinct from the Six Powers martial system) used here to wring a final burst of power from his were-leopard body for one last attack. (Life Return had been demonstrated by other CP9 agents earlier in the arc — Kumadori — and is here attached to Lucci as he tries to finish the fight.)
- Luffy survives a second Rokuogan attempt: Lucci charges another point-blank 'Six King Pistol' ('I'll have them join you in the afterlife!!', p. 9), but Luffy evades the two-palm strike (pp. 10-11, 'I won't take that again...') and counters — the first time the previously decisive Rokuogan is dodged.
- LUFFY DEFEATS ROB LUCCI. After ducking the second Rokuogan, Luffy launches a final Gear-Second-powered barrage — Gum-Gum Jet Gatling (the 'GUM-GUM... ultimate radius...' wind-up, pp. 12-13; the named GATLING barrage, pp. 14-17) — that pulps Lucci against the bridge with an extended WHAM-storm and a KABOOM (pp. 14-17). Lucci collapses face-down ('Koo!'), and the watching marines broadcast across the fleet: 'CP9's Rob Lucci... HAS JUST DEFEATED... the pirate Straw Hat Luffy!!' — then correct themselves in shock as it is Lucci, not Luffy, who is down (pp. 18-20). The principal antagonist of the Water Seven / Enies Lobby saga is beaten.
- Luffy's victory cry resolves the rescue motive: spent and barely standing, Luffy roars 'LET'S GO BACK TOGETHER, ROBIIIIIN!!!' (p. 19) — the chapter's emotional payoff of the entire Enies Lobby rescue, with Robin (and the whole crew) watching.

Summary
On the Bridge of Hesitation, a beaten Luffy refuses to stay down after Lucci’s Rokuogan. The watching crew (Sniper King/Usopp, Zoro, Nami, Sanji, Chopper, Franky) and the gate pirates rally him — “Get up!!”, “Stop acting like this is the end!!”, “This isn’t the afterlife!!”, “Win this battle, Luffy!!” — and Luffy hauls himself upright, telling Lucci he came to rescue Robin and won’t die here. Lucci, equally exhausted, releases Life Return for one last surge and charges a second Six King Pistol, vowing to send Luffy and his comrades to the afterlife. This time Luffy reads and dodges the two-palm strike, throws Lucci’s words back (“I will follow that woman… to the ends of the earth and see her die” → Robin’s “I WANT TO LIVE!!!”), and unleashes a final Gear-Second Gum-Gum Jet Gatling — an extended WHAM-storm that hammers Lucci into the bridge and ends in a KABOOM. Lucci drops, motionless. Luffy, swaying on his feet, shouts “Let’s go back together, Robiiiin!!!” as the marine fleet, expecting a report of Luffy’s death, broadcasts in disbelief that it is their own ace agent who has fallen — “CP9’s Rob Lucci has just been defeated by the pirate Straw Hat Luffy!!” The chapter closes with a Question Corner (SBS) page (Franky’s age confirmed as 34).
New reveals
- LUFFY DEFEATS ROB LUCCI (pp. 14-20) — after dodging a second Rokuogan, Luffy lands a final Gear-Second Gum-Gum Jet Gatling barrage that pulps Lucci into the bridge (KABOOM, pp. 16-17); Lucci collapses face-down (“Koo!”, p. 18) and the marines confirm “CP9’s Rob Lucci has just been defeated by the pirate Straw Hat Luffy!!” (pp. 19-20). The strongest CP9 agent and central antagonist of the saga is beaten.
- LIFE RETURN named as Lucci’s technique (p. 9) — “LIFE RETURN RELEASE!!”; a CP9 body-control discipline (separate from the Six Powers) used to squeeze a final burst of power from his were-leopard body for one more attack.
- Rokuogan is dodged for the first time (pp. 9-11) — Lucci charges a second “Six King Pistol,” but Luffy evades the two-palm point-blank strike (“I won’t take that again…”, p. 10), neutralizing the technique that dropped him Ch. 425.
- Luffy’s rescue motive pays off in his battle cry — “LET’S GO BACK TOGETHER, ROBIIIIIN!!!” (p. 19), the climactic emotional beat of the Enies Lobby rescue, with Robin watching.
- Luffy throws Lucci’s own “I’ll follow that woman… and see her die” back at him by invoking Robin’s choice to live (“I WANT TO LIVE!!!”, p. 13) — explicitly framing the fight as being for Robin’s right to exist.

Open questions raised
- Is Lucci permanently out, or will CP9 / Spandam regroup? (He is face-down and silent at chapter’s end.)
- With the strongest CP9 agent down, can the rest of the crew now break free of the bridge and escape the encircling Buster Call fleet?
- How exactly does Life Return differ from the Six Powers, and what are its limits as a power amplifier?
