Status: confirmed (payoff Ch. 398) · Technique: a dead/parting parent’s charge sets up a child’s later inversion (dialogue-from-dead-character + parallel-arc-structure)
The seed
The present-arc Robin is the inversion of this charge — at Enies Lobby she is surrendering her life to protect the crew (“I just want to die!!”, Ch. 389). The seed sets up Robin’s coming declaration of will-to-live and her acceptance of the duty to read the True History. Links True History Ohara Was Killed For.

Why this matters
Oda’s standard “dialogue-from-dead-character” engine: a parent’s parting line is planted as a moral instruction the child will later either betray or fulfil under maximum dramatic pressure. Pairing it with parallel-arc-structure (the Ohara genocide replayed as the Enies Lobby rescue) lets the audience feel the weight of the inversion before the catharsis. A future reader should expect Robin’s eventual “I want to live!!” to explicitly echo this panel.
