Summary

The chapter opens mid-battle as Gan Fall (the Sky Knight), riding Pierre, charges into the String Challenge (String Ordeal) of Upper Yard against one of Enel’s vassals; despite the priest’s “String Challenge!!” attacks Gan Fall presses on (“Full speed, Pierre!! We need one more thrust…”). The scene then cuts to the Shandians’ Hidden Cloud Village — a totem-pole-studded camp of teepees in the clouds — where a Shandian girl, Aisa, sneaks back from Upper Yard with “varse” in her bag and is scolded for risking her life in Enel’s death-game. Aisa brashly declares the Shandians will never beat Enel, drawing the ire of warrior Kamakiri and others. In the war council, the Shandian leader Wyper — established as the descendant of the great warrior Calgara, whose final order was “bring back the light of Shandora” — declares total war: anyone who rules under the title “Kami” and their followers are sworn enemies who must all be destroyed. It is revealed that Gan Fall has returned to Upper Yard believing he can still bring peace to the floating island, but Wyper rejects coexistence and any alliance with the old Sky Knight, snarling at Raki to stay out of his way. Meanwhile in Upper Yard’s vast forest, Nami scouts from a high vantage with binoculars while Zoro and Sanji wait below; Nami sees what the island truly is and recoils in shock (“This island… no way!!”). The chapter returns to the Sky Knight’s losing duel: Gan Fall is overpowered by the String vassal at the “mysterious String Challenge,” struck down (“STAB!!”), with his bird Pierre crying out — closing on the Shandians and Skypieans bracing for “Heaven’s Punishment.”
