A Shandian warrior, introduced this chapter (Ch. 249, named on-page page 6: “Oh, it’s you, Kamakiri!!”).

“Kamakiri is strong, but Eneru broke his spirit” (pp. 12-13). Defeated/demoralized off-page by Enel; collapsed in despair in the panel that carries the Goro Goro no Mi name reveal.

The title combatant of Ch. 264 (“Warrior Kamakiri vs. Kami Eneru”). Lands a “Burn Blade” on Enel (p. 14) but cannot kill a lightning Logia (“Why… won’t… you… die?!” p. 12) and is felled in Enel’s “Varie” discharge. Fights alongside the Reject-Dial-armed Wyper. Downed during the Priests’ counterattack (“Wyper! Kamakiri’s down!”, p2). At the Shandian camp it is revealed he was wounded trying to protect Aisa’s bag of “Varse” (dirt) while Wyper was distracted protecting him (p18).

Among the Shandian Warriors mustered for Wyper’s all-out assault on the Kami’s temple (p. 12).

First appearance, named on-page. Shandian fighter; chides Aisa over her Upper Yard runs — scolds her for risking her life sneaking to Upper Yard and for taunting the Shandians’ chances against Enel (pages 6–7). Present at the war council (pages 11–12).

Surface meaning: カマキリ Kamakiri — Japanese for “praying mantis” (螳螂; analyzable as 鎌切り kama-kiri, “sickle-cutter”).
Pun layer: The mantis’s raptorial scythe/sickle forearms echo his close-range blade fighting (his “Burn Blade” cut on Enel, Ch. 264). An insect-themed name in the Shandian register.
