Laki
Raki (VIZ) · alive · Shandians
Profile
A Shandian fighter (VIZ “Raki”; canonical “Laki”), introduced this chapter (Ch. 249, page 10).
Arc-by-arc updates
Skypiea — finale (Ch. 302)
- Rendered “Raki” on-page (p. 4). Trims Luffy’s hair in the ruins (“Aisa… let’s just trim your hair today. …You’re really ladylike today, Raki.”); peacetime grooming scene. First on-page appearance since 0257.
Skypiea — jungle collision with Luffy (Ch. 257)
- Wanders the jungle singing a carefree song (“My head is empty, I’m a fool… Humdy dum! There’s a lovely island in the south…”); Luffy mistakes the voice for a goat and collides with her, the two recognizing each other (“What the heck are you doing here?” / “Hey… it’s you!”) (pp. 17–19).
- INFERENCE: the figure’s identity is read from costume + weapon + the carefree song; the name is not spoken on-page in 257 (VIZ calls her “Raki” — this is the same Shandian woman, see note above), so this rests on the prior naming at Ch. 249.
Skypiea (Ch. 249)
- First appearance, named on-page (page 10). At the war council she questions Wyper’s hardline stance (“Just because we share a common foe doesn’t make us allies!!”); Wyper cuts her off — “You’ll only be in the way!! … Do I make myself clear, Raki?!” (page 10). Pushes back on Wyper’s reject-all-allies war stance.
Notes
- ETYMOLOGY: no sourced meaning found. JP reading recorded (ラキ). The “Raki”↔“Laki” split is a romanization of the single katacana ラキ (Japanese R≈L flap), not two names. No bird/meaning attested — not guessed per the “bad data is worse than no data” rule.
