Summary
The chapter opens on a Marine ship at sea (p. 1). Smoker orders a recording “played again”; Tashigi, distracted, is gushing over a sword — “The fine-grade sword Kashu!! Only on the Grand Line can you find a fine-grade sword so easily! What beautiful workmanship.” Smoker erupts: “Tashigi!!! Are you deaf, you sword-crazy fool?!” He has Tashigi listen to a Black Transponder Snail (Listening Device) — a black-shelled wiretap-snail that intercepted an earlier call between two men (p. 4). The transmission plays garbled (KRRK / ZZK); the Marines recover four keywords: “orders directly,” “Mr. Zero,” “Straw Hats,” “Princess Vivi” (pp. 4-5).
Tashigi reacts (“STRAW…!! THE STRAW HATS!!!”). Smoker and Tashigi reason it through (p. 6): the Mr.-number codename implies a person getting direct orders from some criminal organization, and they connect it to Mr. 11 — the dubious swordsman the Marines captured in Lunness recently. Mr. 11, panicked, claims “I was sure I burned them!!” about orders found in his pocket; the Marines confirm “There was nothing in your pockets” — captioned MR. 11 — BAROQUE WORKS (FRONTIER AGENT). Smoker lays out the picture (p. 6): “Alabasta is a kingdom in the grip of a rebellion. Cut to Little Garden, Island of Giants (p. 7). Dorry and Brogy — recovered enough to sit up — laugh that they “completely forgot there was a price on our heads” and want to “repay” the Strawhats: “You little people saved our lives.” Vivi protests that the giants were only hurt “because of me”; Nami reassures her (“No one’s mad at you.”). The mood is light — rice crackers, Usopp’s eyes popping, “Hey, Nami, dance for us!!” (p. 8). The crew faces the real problem: the Log Pose takes a year to reset on Little Garden (p. 8) — “It takes a year for the log pose to reset here. That’s no good.”
Sanji bursts in (p. 9): “NAMI!!! VIVI!!! AH!!! And you guys!!” — heart-eyed and relieved everyone is safe. Luffy notes Sanji “wasn’t around when we needed him, but he has the nerve to show up now.” Sanji asks about Mr. 3 (“Hey!! How do you know about Mr. 3?”) — leading into the off-panel reveal that Sanji had spoken with Mr. 0 / Mr. Zero by Transponder Snail and told him the Strawhats were all dead (pp. 10-11). Vivi: “You mean… you spoke with Mr. Zero?” — the crew realizes “Baroque Works is off our trail, but we’re still stuck on this island!” — until Sanji reveals he obtained the Eternal Pose to Alabasta (p. 12 — “YAHOO!! …The Eternal Pose to Alabasta!!! Comedy interlude (pp. 12-15): Zoro, Usopp and Sanji bicker over a hunting challenge — Zoro bagged a huge rhino, Usopp a lizard, Sanji “I won.” The giants ask “Hunting challenge?” Luffy interrupts — “WE HAVE TO GO!!!” Nami breaks up the bickering: “All right, Nami. …Just cut ‘em up and load as much as you can. It’s time to sail!”

- Will Smoker reach Alabasta, and how will the Marine pursuit intersect the Baroque Works conflict? Smoker has set course for Alabasta on an HQ Eternal Pose. Forward-canon: yes — Smoker becomes a major player in the Alabasta arc, ultimately a wildcard against both Crocodile and Luffy.
- Who is Mr. Zero / Mr. 0? The Marines recover Mr. Zero as a keyword and float it as a possible codename without identifying the person. Forward-canon: Mr. 0 is the Baroque Works boss, Crocodile, a Warlord of the Sea.
- How deep does the Baroque Works org-chart go? Ch. 128 names the Frontier Agent tier (Mr. 11) beneath the Officer Agents. Forward-canon: Officer Agents → Frontier Agents → Billions → Millions, fully canonized in the Alabasta arc.
