Why this matters

The Island Eater installs the mega-Sea-King as a Grand-Line hazard at a scale far beyond the East-Blue Lord of the Coast — a creature whose back reads as a moving landmass. It is the in-fiction reason the giants escort the Strawhats out, and it provides the chapter’s closing scale-composition (small ship vs. vast monster). Pre-loads the larger Sea-Kings-as-arc-scale-obstacles register that recurs across the series (the Calm Belt Sea Kings, the Fish-Man Island sea-king lore).

Ch. 0129 — geography-as-living-by-product: the Island Eater is the first on-page Sea King whose existence generates terrain. The giants canonize that its excrement is habitable-island-scale — a continent they once landed on was a monster’s dung. This installs the Grand-Line register that the world’s geography is not stable, mapped, or even necessarily inanimate — the broader the world is alive / the map lies / not all islands are islands doctrine. Forward: the Calm-Belt traverse mechanics, the Florian-Triangle / Thriller-Bark fog-monsters, the Fishman-Island deep-sea Sea Kings, the Poseidon-controls-Sea-Kings reveal.
