Summary

Aboard the Going Merry, the Straw Hats decompress after Whisky Peak. Usopp shakes off the trauma of having slept through Zoro’s solo defense (Ch. 115 p.1 — helmet SHAKE SHAKE / DOOM: “I’m glad I slept through it”); Sanji credit-claims Luffy’s 30M-berry bounty as mostly for me (p.1) and is shut down by Nami’s deadpan “Nope.” Vivi briefs the crew on Grand-Line weather: “It was crazy because of the seven magnetic fields coming from Reverse Mountain” (p.3) and delivers the cardinal rule — “Never underestimate the Grand Line!!” (p.3). Despite Nami and Sanji wanting to leave (p.11 — “Let’s just wait on the ship for the Log Pose to reset”), Luffy declares “I SMELL ADVENTURE!!!” (p.11) and demands a pirate box lunch — a vegetable-free box lunch for quick energy (p.11, editor’s footnote). He bounds off the ship (p.13 — “See you when we see you!!”); Vivi promises she’ll be fine (“Karoo will protect me” — p.12). Zoro decides to go too — “I’ve got time to kill” (p.13) — and Sanji, jealous, challenges Zoro to a hunt-contest over kilos of meat (pp.14-15 — “I CHALLENGE YOU TO A HUNT!!! It’s a contest over the most kilos of meat”). Both leave the ship simultaneously; Nami despairs (“And then there were two. Why does it always end up like this?” p.15), leaving her, Vivi, Usopp, and Karoo all alone (p.15).

Back on board, Usopp remembers reading about Little Garden in an exploration book (p.16). Nami spots a coiled-shell fossil — “That looks like an ammonite” — Usopp: “An armored one!!” (p.16). Then DOOM!! — a Brachiosaurus-style long-necked dinosaur rises above the canopy (p.17). Luffy (mid-jump, mounting it): “What’s a Neptunian doing here!?” Nami: “DINOSAUR!!!!”
